The document describes the design process for magazine and DVD covers to promote a music video. For the magazine cover, elements were added like ratings, a barcode, price and banners to make it look realistic. An eye-catching close-up image from the video was used as the main image. For the DVD cover, the theme was black and white to match the video. The song title was on the spine for professionalism. The back included an edited separate photo and short summary. Both covers aimed to promote recognition and identification of the song, artist, and video.

2. Summary- Magazine Cover
I wanted to create a magazine cover that was eye-
catching and was in keeping with my black and
white theme. To make it more realistic, I added
star ratings, a barcode, a price and date and a
banner at the top and the bottom in order to make
it seem like a real media product. I chose to use the
close up image of Imogen as opposed to other
pictures I have taken as I felt it was most the most
appropriate to go on a cover and also completely
links to the music video. If this were a real media
product, it would hopefully make consumers
subconsciously recognise the picture from the
video and quickly identify the song and artist.

4. Summary- DVD Cover
For the DVD cover, I wanted to make the whole of the product
black and white as I feel it would make it stand out from the
rest and consumers would immediately associate it with the
video and hopefully the song and the artist. Like the magazine
cover, I chose the striking image of Imogen which is also in
the video to be on the front because it is very eye-catching and
original. For the spine, I decided to put the name of the song
on it as this technique is used a lot on DVD covers and adds to
the professional execution I was aiming for. The back of the
cover has another image that I took of Imogen separately to
the video which I edited in Photoshop Adobe. I wrote a very
short summary of the video which is also very common on the
back of DVD covers and hopefully contributes to it being a
good imitation of a real media product.
