4. Nicolae Titulescu, a remarkable politician, jurist and professor, the greatest Romanian diplomat
in history, former foreign minister of the country in several terms and the only president of the
League of Nations reelected for two consecutive terms.
One of the first-rate personalities that Romania has given, Titulescu was a man dedicated to his
country in spite of hostility, political isolation, providing a fantastic universe of ideas and political
action that often exceeded the boundaries of verosimil . A magistrate, a perfect character and an
international diplomat, Titulescu was a man of peace, who fought for cordial relations with his
neighbors, but also for re-establishing relations with the Soviet Union - although some have accused
him of being inappropriate to approach the neighbor from the East - provided that Romania's
borders are protected. It is also due to the launching of the concept of United Europe through a
common cultural-spiritual approach, but its personality would be isolated after Romania's alliance
with Germany in the interwar years, being compelled to give up the diplomatic career and take the
path of exile. For all his exceptional achievements, Titulescu remained a worthy model for
successive generations, and a landmark of Romania in international diplomacy, being considered by
many historians to be the most important international personality in the interwar period .
In 1903 he received the "Ernest Beaumont" prize at a contest organized by all French Law
Courts, entitled "Effects of Free-Acquired Agreements, either by the Single Woman or by Both
Spouses on Child Profit from the first marriage, from a common child or a third child ".
