Warp films do not usually make short films as they do not make
as much money as feature films do. The only reason that they are
to produce a short film would be for a global event, such as the
olympics, or to keep links with clients, such as a writer for The
Peep Show who wanted to start directing.
6. The majority of Meadow’s films have been set in the
Midlands area. Much of the content of his films is
semi-autobiographical and based on his
experiences. E.g. Twenty Four Seven was inspired
by his youth at a boxing club.
Dead Man’s Shoes is based on a more unpleasant
side of his youth, when a close friend was bullied,
developed a drug addiction and committed suicide.
This started out as a short film, won numerous
awards and was then developed into a feature film.
Meadows has now moved on to making music
videos, for example he directed Jake Bugg’s new
video.
