2. Making butter is simple, fast and fun.
The activity is very useful to help children
understand what has made the milk and the
relationship between milk and dairy products.
It is an experience in nutrition education, with the flavor of
the scientific experiment.
Ingredients and materials
* 250 ml of cream
* A jar
* A little ball
* A bowl of very cold water
Process:
We put the ball into the jar and then we put the cream.
We close very well and begin to shake vigorously up and
down.
3. After ten minutes, we don’t hear neither the noise of the
liquid nor the little ball inside the container, we made the whipped
cream.
After five minutes we heard a new change, as if into the jar there
was something solid. And now we hear again the noise of the ball.
We open: the fat of the cream was separated from the whey.
We put the content of the jar in cold water and eliminate the ball.
Using both hands, we collect the solid part and we squeeze it.
4. The butter is ready to spread on bread for a simple snack.
