3. Who They Are
• ND 4-H leadership organization made up of
youth ages 16-22
• Purpose
– Enhance and promote ND 4-H program
– Foster awareness of 4-H opportunities for youth
throughout the state
– Help with 4-H events throughout the state
– Assist in planning statewide events such as
Extension Youth Conference (EYC)
4. What They Do
• Retreats
– Four a year held throughout the state
• Help at State Fair
• Help plan and facilitate EYC
• Help at any other county or state 4-H event they
are asked to
– Oxbow Golf Tournament
– Help at county livestock
shows
– Announce awards
– Help at project days
– Be the extra hand at any
county or state event
5. Requirements
• Be 16 at the time of application
• Complete a total of 5 requirements a year
– A requirement is helping at any ND 4-H event
– 2 must be from attending retreats and/or EYC
• Outgoing when 22 at EYC

• Application due
– Selections (November 21st)
• Oct 5th to County office
• Oct 15th to State 4-H office
– Elections (EYC in June)
• May 5th to County office
• May 15th to State 4-H office
• Must have 3 references
– One from Extension staff
• Extension agent must sign application

– Application
– Problem solving
– Impromptu speaking
– Formal interview
– Team building
