2. Vertical Alignment Possibilities
Statewide Articulation: Align course material taught with other school
teachers and university representative across North Carolina. If students
can learn material that is useful in health courses in college then they will
be more prepared for success at the next level. This can also be done with
local technical schools and community colleges.
Dual Credit: Have students do their practical assessments at the local
community college and receive credit for a health lab. This will allow
students to be ahead when they begin the college process.
3. Horizontal Alignment
Information Technology: Students will use IT in this course that is
commonly used in businesses the health fields today. Presentations like this
will prepare them for various career possibilities
Writing: Student s will write in this course and be forced to think outside the
box. This will promote real world learning and also force students to actually
think instead of memorize.
Practical: Along with learning terms, students will actually be using their
material in community college lab settings. This will be the most beneficial
part of the course in terms of becoming next level ready.
