DCI Pharmaceuticals is a pharmaceutical company located in Goa, India that has been in operation since 1968 manufacturing small volume injectables, ophthalmic products, and other drugs. It has various quality control, production, and engineering departments to ensure compliance with WHO GMP and ISO 13485 standards. The objective of the industrial tour was to understand DCI's manufacturing processes and quality control procedures through direct observation of its facilities and departments.

3. The pharmacy is the subject which deals with the practice of
medicine and is directly related to the public health and hence
practical Knowledge is must and this could be achieved by
visualizing and understanding the process directly

2. DCI is one of the oldest running Pharmaceutical company in Goa in
operation since 1968 as Drug and Chemical Industries which was
rechristened as DCI Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. In the year 1974.
3It is acquired and run successfully by M/s. Agrawal Group of
Companies in the year 2011.
4. DCI is an existing Pharmaceutical Company engaged in manufacture
of small volume liquid Injectables in ampoules along with Ophthalmic,
Otic & Nasal Products for the past 40 years.

5. The Company possesses Drug Manufacturing License from Food and
Drugs Administration, Goa, as under:

9. Quality control department is well equipped with highly
sophisticated automatic instruments like HPLC,FTIR,UV-VIS
Spectrophotometer,AutoTitrator, Karl Fischer instrument etc.
analyses all the incoming raw materials, packaging materials,
conducts in-process quality control, analyses all the batches of
the finished products both chemically and microbiologically.

10. It is involved in implementation of good manufacturing and
good laboratory practices. Its other functions include inspection
of sanitation processes, general cleanliness, personal hygiene,
process validation, calibration of instruments/equipments and
preparation of SOP / MMFM / BMR and other documentation as
well as carrying out IPQA checks in production and packing
operations.

1. Ampoule Manufacturing Section.
2.Ophthalmic Manufacturing Section I.
3.Ophthalmic Manufacturing Section II.

12. Engineering Department is a well-equipped workshop. The
department looks after the process supporting utilities like
Purified Water Generation Plants, WFI Generation Plant, Pure
Steam Generator, Briquette fired Boiler, Air Compressor, Air
Conditioning & Air Handling Units .
The department looks after the preventive maintenance and
break down maintenance of all the process machines,
equipment’s, instruments and utilities.
