Lesson “a” birthdays

Example:
My birthday is on the sixth of August
Mi cumpleaños es el seis de agosto
The first day of school is on the fifteenth of
September
El primer día de colegio es el quince de
septiembre
Saint George's day is on the twenty-third of
April
El día de San Jorge es el veintitrés de abril
Como ves, siempre empleamos la preposición
on en las fechas.
En inglés americano se dice primero el mes y
después el día:
April 26 - April the twenty-sixth

La forma de decir el año - Nineteenninety-six sí
el año 1.996 será:
19 - 96, o sea, nineteenninety-six
Cuando nos referimos a los años siempre
utilizamos la preposición in - "en":
“En 1874” = in eighteen seventy-four ...
Los números de las fechas en inglés se
escriben así:
1st
2nd
3rd
4th
5th etc excepto 21st, 23rd y 31st
Hay varias maneras de escribir o decir la
fecha en inglés:

- Today is Tuesday the 15th of March 2011 ó
- Today is the 15th of March ó March the 15th

Cuando decimos en inglés el número de la fecha
(15th) se dice "the" pero no es correcto escribirlo.
Recordemos que el sonido "th" en inglés equivale a
la "z" española.
Escribimos la fecha en inglés de la siguiente
manera:
Today is Tuesday 15th March 2011. Tambien entre
la fecha (15th) y el mes se dice of pero no es
correcto escribirlo
Tuesday 15th March (se dice Tuesday the 15th of
March)

y Mary se van a casar.)

a buscar un trabajo nuevo?)
I’m not going to go on holiday. (No voy a ir de
vacaciones.)

conducir a Madrid.)

I'm going to get my hair cut tomorrow. (Me voy
a cortar el pelo mañana.)
John and Mary are going to buy a house in the
country next year. (John y Mary van a comprar
una casa en el campo el año que viene.)
We're going to start eating more healthily next
month. (El mes que viene vamos a empezar a
comer más sano.)

Ella ( lo, le ) manda un telegrama.

PARIS

La Nuit Blanche ( White
Night ) is an annual
art event that takes
place overnight in the French capital , as in many
other world capitals. On that night is offered for
free to the public opening of museums , cultural
institutions and other public and private spaces ,
which are used for shows , exhibitions , videos ,
installations and performance art .

La Nuit Blanche in Paris there since 2002 , and
various contemporary artists show their art in
places that are not open to the public or whose
original function is not artistic in principle ( pools
, subways , streets , parks ... ) . The aim is to make
art accessible to everyone, put the urban space in
the service of modern creation , create a moment
of conviviality , make Paris a city of culture where
citizens are invited to participate. In addition , the
festivities extend to the neighboring cities of Paris
( Vincennes Nanterre ) and works and
performances are often concentrated in certain
areas to avoid making the public is tired. Paris is
full of light and color on the longest night of the
year , it is a sight to see the streets , monuments,
