Is deviance relative? Why/why not? Are there some acts that are considered deviant in every culture? Of the different theoretical perspectives on deviance, which do you think is most useful for understanding deviance and why? Solution Yes, deviance is relative. I think theft is considered deviant in all cultures, and murder maybe. Deviance isn\'t always bad. Rosa Parks sat at the front of the bus... back then that was deviance... and look good has come from it. I think conflict theory or symbolic interactionism..... Conflict- The haves and the have-nots Symbolic- how we interact with our surrounding and the definitions we place on them..

Of the different theoretical perspectives on deviance, which do you think is most useful for understanding deviance and why? Solution Yes, deviance is relative. I think theft is considered deviant in all cultures, and murder maybe. Deviance isn't always bad. Rosa Parks sat at the front of the bus... back then that was deviance... and look good has come from it. I think conflict theory or symbolic interactionism..... Conflict- The haves and the have-nots Symbolic- how we interact with our surrounding and the definitions we place on them.
