What is the CPU?
The Central Processing Unit (CPU) is the primary component of a computer that acts as its “control center.” The CPU, also referred to as the “central” or “main” processor, is a complex set of electronic circuitry that runs the machine's operating system and apps
4. CPU(Central Processing Unit)
CPU stands for central processing
Unit. It is the brain of the
computer. It is the most important
component of a computer. It is also
called processor. A computer can
not work without CPU.
CPU is located on the mother board.
5. Central processing unit (CPU) is the central
component of the Computer System. Sometimes it is
called as microprocessor or processor. It is the brain
that runs the show inside the Computer. All
functions and processes that is done on a computer
is performed directly or indirectly by the processor.
Obviously, computer processor is one of the most
important element of the Computer system. CPU is
consist of transistors, that receives inputs and
produces output.
6. Parts of CPU
1) ALU (Arithmetic and Logic Unit)
2) CU(Control Unit)
7.
8. ALU
Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU): It is
the part of computer processor
(CPU) can be used to perform
arithmetic and logic operations. An
arithmetic-logic unit (ALU) is
further divided into two parts, (AU)
arithmetic unit and a (LU) logic
unit.
9. CU
Control Unit (CU): Decodes the
program instruction. CPU chip
used in a computer is partially
made out of Silica. on other words
silicon chip used for data
processing are called Micro
Processor.
20. Serial ports
A type of interface that transmits one bit at a
time is called serial port. It is usually used to
connect devices that do not required fast
data transmission like mouse and keyboard
etc. serial ports are often known as
communications ports.
22. Parallel ports
A type of interface that transmits many bits at
a time is called parallel port. It is used
connect devices that transfer many bits at a
time and require fast data transmission like
printer and scanner etc. parallel ports are
often referred to as Line printer ports.
23.
24. USB Port
USB is the most common type of port to connect
devices to a computer. It is used to connect devices
such as keyboard, mouse, digital camera etc. It can
connect up to 127 different peripheral devices with a
single connector type.usb ports can be used as a
power supply for different devices like smart phone
and tablets etc.
