3. Good Values = Good Business
Instead of driving flashy cars we invest in
new stores and retain the original features.
We try to educate our customers in the value
of our environmental and ethical pursuits
without making it a marketing ploy.
We engage our teams in understanding the
business ethics and reward through profit
share schemes.
We encourage the idea of philanthropy
across the company and will offer work
placements on environment projects.
4. 100% of donations go straight
to helping those in need. This is
a great charity to support!
5. Most responsible corporations are taking environmental
sustainability seriously.
It is time to realize that a sensible environmental policy is
not a political belief or a vanity project…
it’s just common sense and can save
your business costly overheads.
As the MD of JoJo, cycling and using the train
I save 9.4 tonnes of Co2 p/a. And about £40Kp/a.
But… in a democracy we can’t expect
everyone to jump on a bike.
6. To remain a viable, growing business we need to make
sensible compromises…
• Our customers want to use disposable nappies --
We don’t sell them but when we offered alternatives, they were not popular…
So we try to support and promote nappy recycling scheme.
• Our customers want to buy baby products made of
plastic, so we try to offset the emissions with our
recycled baby and childrens’ fashion.
• Our customers want disposable hygiene
products such as potties, so we offer one from
Becothings; a company that makes items made
from bamboo and rice husks.

8. IN MY OPINION…
TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS YOU WILL NEED:
1. To lead by example.
2. A ‘can do’ attitude, try to multi-task and attempt everything.
3. The ability to delegate within a ‘blame-free’ culture.
4. To keep your teams productive and motivated.
5. To be imaginative in all areas; design, marketing, social clubs.
6. To employ the right individuals and be extremely lucky!
9. “I owe my success to having listened
respectfully to the very best advice, and then
going away and doing the exact opposite.”
G.K. Chesterton
