Breaking a social norm is not illegal in some cases but is unusual. It’s something that
people in an everyday public setting do not do. Such as talk to others on a crowded elevator or
scream for no reason. It is something that people do not see every day as a casual event. For
mine I did something very odd to do at the current time of the year, I wore a heavy winter coat
down the streets of Huntington to break a social norm. The reason it is considered breaking a
social norm is because it is 90 degrees outside and summer while I am in a winter coat. I may
have been on fire for the time, yet I did release how much it surprised people. I received a lot of
strange facial expressions while walking. As I passed one small group of people, I overheard a
woman say to her friend,” Is he crazy?” These were the reactions I personally wanted.
