My dad gave me one dollar bill And four is more than three!
âCause Iâm his smartest son, And I took the nickels to Hiram
Coombs
And I swapped it for two shiny
quarters Down at the seed-feed store,
And the fool gave me five pennies for
âCause two is more than one! them,
And then I took the quarters And five is more than four!
And traded them to Lou And then I went and showed my dad,
For three dimes-I guess he donât And he got red in the cheeks
know
And closed his eyes and shook his
That three is more than two! head ---
Just then, along came old blind Bates Too proud of me to speak!
And just âcause he canât see
He gave me four nickels for my three From Where the Sidewalk Ends
