*a disqualification, restriction, or disadvantage ( Merriam and
Webster, 1959)
*an impairment (such as a medical condition or injury) that prevents someone
from engaging in gainful employment (Merriam and Webster,1959)
*It’s a complex phenomenon that reflects the interaction between the
human organism and the characteristics of the society in which it lives
(World’s Health Organisation,2006)
*It’s a concept resulted from the interaction between impaired individuals
and the barriers created by the attitude and the context which prevents their
full involvement in social activities on equal conditions ( United Nations
Organisation, 2006)

It is clear that due to
the lack of awareness
of the problem,
physically impaired
individuals are
actually being
“disabled” by
Argentinian society.
