1. Analysing Art

First Reactions: I selected this particular piece of artwork because it is unique and
makes me think the darkness in the picture is all I can see apart from the light which
caught my eye.
The picture makes me think, it looks very full, which brings my mood down, but the
light is a unique part which stands out.
The picture creates a gloomy atmosphere as well as a calm atmosphere.
Content: I can see a type of garage, a house, trees, rocks and bushes. I think this
represents cold, winter nights. I don’t think it says anything about the time or period. I
think it is intended to be permanent as it has a full effect. I do believe that this
painting could lead to a certain story line.
Form & Process: The painting has a blank canvas and dark coloured paint, the
painting is very full with colours like grey. I think Michael Raedecker done this to
make people think and it may tell a story.
Idea: I think it is a successful piece of work that has definitely made me think
although it has a boring effect. This art work relates and inspires my own ideas , I also
want people to think about my artwork but perhaps with a different colour scheme
