ABSTRACT
01
* ABSTRACT:-
● we propose a smartly designed turning mechanism that allows for efficient
turning in large connected vehicles like, trucks, trailers and long AC buses.
The mechanism features an interlinked turning mechanism that uses a
single motor to power turning of entire vehicle and all its trailing carts
such that the trailing cart follows exact same path of the main cart. The
mechanism consists of a motorized cart frame connected to another frame
through an interlinked set of connecting rods. The forward frame is fitted
with 2 wheel driving motors along with a turning motor. The turning
motor when rotates the vehicle frame, involuntarily turns the trailing kart
frame so as to align it with the motion and ensures it follows same path.
The driving motors are used to drive the front kart and thus allows for
smooth motion of the vehicle on roads as if it were following a track.

* INTRODUCTION:-
● A motorized smart steering mechanism is a system that uses motorized
components, sensors, and intelligent control algorithms to enable
precise and automated steering in various applications. It is often used
in vehicles, robotics, and automation systems to enhance control,
safety, and efficiency. This mechanism typically includes components
like electric motors, encoders, sensors (such as gyros or cameras), and a
control unit (microcontroller or computer) to adjust the steering angle
or direction based on real-time data and user inputs. It can provide
features like autonomous navigation, lane-keeping, obstacle avoidance,
and remote control, making it a crucial technology in various fields

* WORKING:-
● This smart steering mechanism features an interlinked steering

* ADVANTAGES:-
● Easy Turning
● Efficient Turning for Long Vehicle
● Increase vehicle stability
● Decrease turning radius at low
speed
● Improve handling and helps vehicle
to make tighter turn.
* APPLICATION:-
● Parallel parking: Due to smaller turning radius the parking and un parking of
vehicle is easily performed towards the right or left side.
● High speed lane changing: In this is less steering sensitive this does require a
lot of concentration from driver since he has to judge the space and vehicles
behind them
● Narrow Roads: Due to rear wheel steering on narrow roads with tight bends,
counter phase steering reduces the turning radius.
● U-Turns: By minimizing the vehicle’s turning radius and counter phase
steering of rear wheels enables UTurns to be performed on narr
FUTURE SCOPE &
CONCLUSION

* FUTURE SCOPE :-
● As per the focus of the project we create an innovative 4 wheel
active steering mechanism which is feasible to manufacture,
easy to install and highly efficient in achieving in-phase and
counter-phase rear steering with respect to the front wheels.
This system assists in high speed lane changing and better
cornering. It combats the problems faced in sharp turning. It
reduces the turning circle radius of the long vehicles and gives
better maneuverability and control while driving at high
speeds, thus attaining neutral steering. Moreover components
used in this system are easy to manufacture, material used is
feasible, reliable and easily available in market. The system
assembly can be installed and can be implemented in all heavy
load vehicles efficiently.
* CONCLUSION:-
 The designing and modelling , it is concluded
that the mechanics is better suited for tight places
 It is more complex than a regular trolley however
is more efficiency as well
 The costing of the system will drop over a period
of time when the system becomes more common
