7. Use Case
“As a security researcher,
I want to navigate between web pages efficiently,
So that I can improve productivity and
not be discouraged by the overwhelming tabs .”
10. Hypothesis
With TabNav, Alex can maximize productivity by avoiding clicking through
tabs, and have a better browsing experience with the ability to customize
windows.
As a security researcher, Alex usually have to open a lot of tabs at the same time. And when the browser gets too crowded, it is really difficult for him to locate the specific tab and window he needs. The main reason why it is so difficult for Alex to look up tab was because he mainly conducts research on websites such as The Hacker News and welivesecurity.com. When you have multiple tabs opened from the same websites, it will be difficult to look up tabs because the titles will all be similar.
TabNav is designed specifically to solve Alex’s problem, and our MVP included two features.
The first feature is a search function. By typing in keywords in the popup, our app will filter out tabs that match the keyword. Alex can, then, click on the result to get to the page he wants without having to click through all existing tabs or create a new tab.
The second feature is an auto merge function that merges tabs from the same websites into separate windows.
1.Alex spend time on a few specific website (welivesecurity and stackoverflow in this case).
So this feature is very helpful in organizing tabs for Alex.
