ABOUT
Zachary was born in Calhoun, Georgia, and became a
headache to his parents very quickly. His love of style
and design revealed itself at a very young age when
he would ask to redecorate his room every year. His
parents would give in every once in a while, and he
would love picking out themes and surrounding
himself with items that he loved. This love still shines
brightly today, but he now loves helping other people
create spaces that they love.
Zachary holds a BFA in Musical Theatre and has
always equated the joy of theatre to the joy of
designing. "Both involve creating an environment
that someone can escape into," he says. "Good theatre
and good design both inspire us and help us in our
day to day lives."
Zachary currently lives in Birmingham, AL.
STATEMENT
I love being at home.
Don't get me wrong, I love exploring the world around
me, but nothing beats being in a space all your own.
And nothing makes me happier than giving other
people the ability to have this same feeling.
A space that is reflective of the individual has the
ability to heal, inspire, and comfort. I love nothing
more than giving others a place to experience life in.
The following rooms are some of my personal
favorites that I have had the pleasure of creating.
They are a mixture of styles reflective of the different
people who inhabit them.
I hope you enjoy it, and remember, sometimes it's
good to just be home.
4. MARCH 2020
This client wanted to have what they called "an adult boho feel." I interpreted
that to mean that we wanted to embrace color, character, and fun. The house
was a rental, so instead of fighting the wall color, I let it be the anchor for us to
play on top of. Pops of color, handmade items, and sentimental favorites helped
create this unique and chic room.

5. This client had just
purchased their house
and loved every piece but
the kitchen. It was not
hard to understand why.
The red wood of the
cabinets made the space
feel dark and dated. After
discussing with the client,
I realized they are drawn
to the warm tones of
farmhouse style. With
that in mind, I gave the
space a facelift with some
off white and light grey.
The space felt bigger, and
the client could truly love
their space.

FIREPLACE RENOVATION
This same client also had a large
living room that lacked a focal
point. As the heart of the home, I
knew that it needed a centerpiece
of its own. The client had some old
floor panels that she was planning
on getting rid of, but I instead
created a new accent wall over her
fireplace. I pulled the same gray in
from the kitchen, for continuity and
warmth. I also whitewashed her
brick! This update truly changed
the whole look of the room and
have her the farmhouse warmth
that she wanted.
8. APARTMENT
This apartment was such a joy to design.
These clients had extremely different
design styles. One enjoys sharp crisp
lines and more industrial elements -
woods, metals, and neutral colors. On
the other end of the spectrum was their
partner, who enjoys color, maximalism,
and eclectic decor.
I made a great effort to make sure that
both styles were represented. A neutral
color palette and woods allowed the pops
of color to shine while still feeling elegant
and subdued. I mixed patterns, materials,
and styles throughout the apartment to
keep a through-line of metallic golds and
wood. The clients could not be happier
with the result!

9. The main living area is the heart of this apartment. It is the first room guests
enter and is the obvious congregation space. Texture, mixed materials, and pops
of gold set the feel for the entire home.

11. The dining area brings in a bit of whimsy to the apartment. The gallery wall
features a vast array of different periods of art and mediums and helps the
kitchen pass-through blend into the space.

13. The bedroom is the sanctuary of any home. For this one, my clients wanted a space
that felt like a mixture of them both. I used pops of color, while still relying on the
wood and more neutral elements found throughout the rest of the apartment.

16. OFFICE
This client wanted to turn an unused bedroom into a new office space. They
love color and wanted the space to have a lightness to it. To achieve this, I
used whites and bright colors but anchored it with a dark rug and sofa. I
made the record bowls by hand and I loved that the colors added so much
life and dimension to the space! I am including my original rendering for this
project to see where the room came from.

The following are renderings done
for online clients over the midst of
the pandemic. They are not to scale
but are included to demonstrate
my planning style.
