Writer’s Autobiography
I am an international student from Xi’an, China. I attended an international high school in China
where provided me the opportunity to visit the U.S. in summer vacation. When I visited several
universities in the States, I began to have strong interest in pursuing my higher education in this
country. It was a difficult decision to choose the best school that fits my academic interest. I
spent much time in comparing and contrasting many colleges and felt Michigan State University
was the best choice because of its gorgeous campus, rich resources, long history, high rating and
potential employment opportunity. The spirit of Spartan is a truly attraction for me in academic
and sports prospectives. Therefore, I applied and was offered admission in Michigan State
University.
Majoring in Advertising allows me to develop strong creativity and communication skills. I am
interested in this major which combines art and business in variety ways. Additionally, I would
like to gain practical experience that alters day to day. The diversity of employment opportunity,
market competition, and broad job requirement become my motivation in learning Advertising.
After I graduate from college, I would like to find a job in advertising management where
provides me the opportunity to grow hands-on professional skills. If possible, I would like to
work for a famous company in Advertising so I could gain more practice and diverse knowledge
from everyday work.
I worked for a foreign-capital enterprise in China as an assistant under management team when I
was in summer vacation last year. Since it was an entry-level position, my job duties involve
organizing files, producing ad-hoc reports, analyzing customer satisfactory rates and much more.
I have gained many good working habits in this experience. Proper time management, quick
learning processes and efficient file organizations are the three important elements that I learned
from work and will apply these skills back to my academic studies.
The rhythm and melody in music have caught my attention since childhood. Therefore, I have
continuously practice singing and piano since then. During college, I joined Michigan State
University’s Choirs which represents and stands for the Spartan spirit. My team performed in
many football games and half-time show which become an unforgettable memory in my college
life.
The competitive and diverse academic studies and extracurricular activities both are life-
enhancing and beneficial to me.
