Introduction
We were formed a group of 4 at the beginning of the semester for
Social Psychology by our lecturer for the final assignment which is
to create a video clip by incorporating the concept of psychology
that we had learned in class. We were required to prepare a report
of the video clip and present the clip to the class. The objective of
this assignment is to enable student to understand the concepts of
each psychological terms and meanings. In other words, students
would also be able to apply the related concepts in daily life. By
including the concepts with daily life, student would be able to
have a better understanding of the concepts and enhanced the
knowledge of social psychology. This would improve someone’s
thinking skills in terms of communication by one after another and
will reduce the misunderstanding from occurring.
Storyline
It was Edson’s first day in University life, as he gets separated
from his friends during high school. After that he felt that he is

decided to make friends with his classmate by trying to talk and be
friends with them so that he will get support from them. After class,
he met 2 new friends both with different personality outside

Concepts
1) Love and belonging needs
-The need for friends, affectionate, relationships, children, and a sense of
community.
Examples:
Edson felt that he is lonely, as he did not have any friends when he enters
University as life changed. So he decided to talk to some of his classmate to
make friends with them so that he can get support from them.
2) Stereotype
-A stereotype assumes that all members of a group share same common
feature. It often created about people of specific culture and races
Examples:
William looked down at Edson as he was from other countries and he did not
intend to talk to him
3) Attitude
- Tendency to evaluate a person, object, or idea to with some degree of
approval or disapproval
Examples:
As Edson talks to two of his classmate, Fred and William, he realized that
both of them have different characters and personalities. He thinks that Fred
is a more kind hearted and a more friendly person but William is a more anti-
social and non-friendly person.
4) Halo effect
-Impression a person influence how we feel and think of others
Examples:
Fred thinks that Edson is a friendly person and he decided to be friends with
him
5) Social facilitation
-The tendency for people to do perform differently when in the presence of
others than when alone. When in the presence of others, they tend to perform
better
Examples:
Edson become braver after he meet Fred as he managed to talk to him and
be friends with him. These give him confident of talking to other people like
William, one of his classmates
6) Confirmation bias
-Actively seek out data that support our beliefs and actively disregard data
that refute our beliefs
Examples:
After he talked to William, even through he did not wanted to be friends with
Edson. Edson did not get disappointed and did not intend to give up of finding
friends. As he beliefs that he could find a better friend that could support him.
Conclusion
After we had done this project, all of us have a better understanding of the
social psychology concepts and how to apply in our daily life. In other words,
this is the advantage and benefits from what we can learn from this
assignment. Then, we had also learned how to do the video clip and the
arrangement of how to shoot and act in the video. As all of us did not have
experience on acting and creating any of the video clips. This assignment
encourages us to improve our ability and we were also able to communicate
with each of our group members well. In conclusion, this assignment gives us
a well experience and we were also able to overcome all our difficulties in
shooting this video clips.
