PROCUREMENT TECHNOLOGIST
INTIIAL 6 MONTHS CONTRACT RENEWABLE EFFECTIVE DATE: 2014 / 06
DIVISION: GLOBAL OPERATIONS
DEPARTMENT : GLOBAL PROCUREMENT LEVEL/GRADE: 3 (Sri Lanka)
REPORTS TO: PROCUREMENT DIRECTOR
Summary
Procurement
I. PURPOSE / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• In a Global Comprehensive Approach to Procurement, the Procurement technologist has for main
objective to support the Procurement Director, Procurement Managers, Buyers and Project Buyers
in performing analysis and developing/supporting/implementing solutions to improve procurement
process performance.
II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• On assigned tasks will support and/or do followings;
o Perform process map
o Organize/summarize available data
o Create/develop/deploy forms/procedures/work instructions for process improvements
o Create and manage KPI
o Support and Develop solutions definition and support in deployment
• Support Procurement Director on various assigned small projects;
o Lead process improvement projects related activities
o Run the process until stabilized
o Transfer the activities to process operators
• Assigned projects and tasks aim to resolve specific process problems and sustain the
improvements. By design, there will be several projects worked in parallel and they should be
transferred to process operators once improved or closed with projects.
III. IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TO BE REALISED
• NDRs & NDR process
• List all open/recent NDRs and a master list
• Create a form to control input/output data
• Coordinate NDR activities with Global buyer, ETC and BU
• Coordinate weekly reviews
• Define and run KPI
• Integrate with Global NDR process

• RFQs & RFQ process
• Create a form & check list for RFQs
• As per Global Buyer instructions, prepare RFQ for specific items
• Send RFQ to agreed suppliers
• Collect offers from suppliers and organize in comparative for Global Buyer
• Procurement Data management
• Create and maintain a price list for each wheel code (and tires PIDs) and supplier and
publish to BU
• Support in implementing cost model for various products
• Support in organizing and maintaining various files (approved parts, project file, pricing
matrix)
• Shared folders rationalization
• Process mapping
• NDR and RFQ
• Tire manufacturing
• Outsourcing process
• Material planning
• Replenishment
• Supplier management
• Manage suppliers open action item log
• Communication matrix
• Global Procurement Process framework & KPI
• Manage list of KPI for Global Procurement
• Monthly collect data, prepare Suppliers KPI and share with agreed suppliers (tires &
wheels)
• Support initiative by creating work instructions for process case by case
• Other tasks as per projects priorities
