Teach for America / Oklahoma City / 2014 - Present
Teach for America is a nonprofit organization that enlists and develops
college graduates and professionals to teach in primarily Title 1 school.
As an MTLD my primary function is to manage, support, and advance
teachers to strengthen their technical skills in order to achieve academic
and personal growth with students.
 Lesson & Unit Plan Training: In order to achieve ambitious
academic goals, I provided teachers with curriculum
development and implementation.
 Classroom Management: Provide technical and social skills
which teachers can implement in and out of the classroom, in
order to foster authentic relationships with students and
families grounded in success.
 Data Analysis & Intervention: Assist teachers in understanding
assessment outcomes in order to implement intervention
groups, which support student’s multiple learning abilities.
 Leadership Development: Provide detailed coaching to teachers
on instructional techniques and curriculum, while helping them
connect with their long term vision and goals.
 Professional Development: Create and facilitate sessions which
provide teachers with concrete strategies in developing their
technical skills.
S T A T E M E N T
At its most fundamental level, I believe teaching is about engaging the
mind. It is about introducing students to concepts which they can
connect to in a deep and profound way and make sense of new
knowledge. This allows them to apply skills they learn in school to the real
world. As someone who engages in critical reflection, I value the process
of learning and acknowledge students’ multiple entry points. My
experiences as a manager of teacher leadership and classroom teacher
have provided me with multiple techniques that enhance my ability to be
an effective classroom leader. I value vast perspectives and working in a
collaborative environment in order to achieve ambitious academic
results. Teaching is a profession of responsibility, one which supports
student’s drive and helps shape their identity.

implemented intervention instruction for students based on their
academic level in order to advance their academic success.
 Student Leadership: Utilized instructional methods which
facilitated student’s cooperative learning through project based
learning and Socratic seminars, as well as inquiry based projects.
 Parent & Community Partnership: Facilitated Academic Parent
Teacher Team (APTT) meetings a family engagement strategy that
aims to provide parents with informed strategies to build a
supportive network of applicable strategies at home.
 Multiple Subject Curricula: Designed and implemented lessons
which integrated multiple subjects in order to enhance and spiral
