1. Essay On Animal Cruelty
Why is our generation getting crueler each day? Nowadays you don't show respect to everyone or everything. You could hurt or kill someone or
something without expressing any emotions. Animals also have feelings. For example, they can feel pain. I know that when we get hurt it's the
worst feeling. Imagine how these poor animals are feeling. Anyone who approves of these cruel actions is sick. Let me tell you of a story of a
stone cold hearted monster. There was a man who I guess didn't like dogs and kicked the small little dog to death. This is the type of action that
police should be a little more alert with. Why are we not doing anything about this? Isn't this a crime? Why is this not taken more seriously? We need

2. Thesis Statement For Animal Abuse
Topic: Animal Abuse
Thesis statement: The number of animal abuse cases of the United States are rising and the correlation between this crime and other forms of abuse is
becoming more and more evident.
Annotated Bibliography
Acione, Frank R., and Phil Arkrow, editors. "Child Abuse,Domestic Violence, and Animal Abuse: Linking the Circles of Compassion for Prevention
and Intervention." Purdue University Press, 1999. The crux of this novel is the correlation between those who commit animal abuse crimes and what
happens later to their life. Acione and Arkrow dedicated an entire chapter of their publication to assess their opinion backed up of a listed compiled of
research. The piece of research that the authors chose to accentuate was the story of Luke Woodham. Woodham committed a terribly vile act of animal
abuse which resulted in the sixteenâyearâold boy having to go to court. To officers the case had just seemed as a teenager blowing off some steam, but
it wasn't until Woodham was asked to speak about thecrime he had committed. I shall save you the disturbing details of his statements, but the
statement was along the lines of the sounds the animals made reminded the boy of a human. In the end, what those in the court learned stunned them.
Law enforcement thought they were dealing with a simple animals abuse case but now they realize that standing before them is one that could be
compared to criminals such as Bundy and Manson.

3. Essay about Animal Cruelty on Farms
It is so easy to become complacent in our sheltered world and to turn the other cheek to the violence and misery that our every life decision can
perpetrate, and that the majority of the country (mostly unknowingly) buys into. The fact is that if the horrors of the meat industry were common
knowledge, the business would decrease, and drastically at that. So, to keep the knowledge from becoming widespread, meat and animal factory farms
are content to work quietly and discreetly in the sparselyâpopulated back corners of the country where no one can see what is being done without
making an active effort. The problem for them is, many people have been making an active effortâ as the animal cruelty cause became more
mainstream, the US saw a...show more content...
Factory farms have taken advantage of this loose definition, and have been known to give a facility of 100,000 animals a door opening to a 5x5 pen
of dirt, and then have the audacity to label the animals free range. This is almost incomprehensibly cruelâ an sadly, is more of the rule than the
exception when it comes to this industry. According to most sources, chickens are the most brutally treated of all farm animals. They are packed into
wire cages that deform their feet, and are on average given a space of only 8x10 inches in which they will live out their entire lives. Their feet tangle
and grow around the wire, as they don't have enough room to move or even turn around. The wire cages are stacked, meaning that everythingâ old food,
waste, remains of other chickens who have diedâ fall through the cracks and infect other chickens, causing rampant disease. One study showed that in
factory farms nationwide, 95% of chickens had e coli, and 75% of chickens sold in stores also showed traces of e coli. Unfortunately, it is cheaper
to let a chicken die a sickly, infected death than it is to get a vet to treat them, so it is rare that disease gets taken care of. Beaks are removed at a
young age without the use of anesthesia. A chicken's beak is analogous to an elephant's trunkâ it is used for eating and communication, but also for
exploring and discovering. A chicken's beak is its main link to the world

Animal Cruelty is a problem that many ignore. People are oblivious to these animals and the negligence their owners show. Animal cruelty is an
underlying problem in today's society, and the only way to counteract these problems, is for this generation to do something about it. Many people
do not report cases of animal cruelty. Reports of animal cruelty are less common than crimes against people. This is because the cases do not go
through state agencies. The animals that come to mind when someone mentions animal cruelty is often Dogs and cats. These animals do have a
higher percent rate, with dogs at 70.1%, cats at 20.9% and all other animals at 24.1%. The percent's come from cases that people report. If people
were to fill all cases of animal cruelty, the rates would be much more different. A common form of negligence is people taking their animal to a place
far from home to just leave them there. Animal control pick up these animals everyday and send them to shelter. For the most part the animals have a
healthy portion of food and they have shelter from the environment. Most shelters are kill shelters. NoâKill shelters become less common to their
counterpart. Animals not adopted within a certain period of time undergo euthanasia. This keeps room for more animals. Noâkill shelters protect the
animals and help rehabilitate them. The other 24.1% is the factory animals. The purpose of a factory animal's life is a food source. So the owners
mistreat their animals because the animals purpose is to be a food source. It is almost as if they do not matter. They deserve animal rights just as
much as the other animals do. All animals are affected by animal cruelty, even if the animal does not experience the cruelty on a personal level.
Although the ones that experience the cruelty have greater issues after the abuse. Other animals like pit bulls getting a bad name by their owners
being negligent. Pit bulls can be aggressive; they do have an aggressive nature about them. This is only when they are provoked, but these dogs are not
dangerous. If the dog is taught right than the aggression is nonâexistent. If the owner is negligent to the animal and abuses the dog, it often brings out
the more mean side of the dog. The

Paul McCartney once said, "if slaughterhouses had glass walls, we would all be vegetarian." There are many different forms of animal cruelty, ranging
from labs, to farms, to even circuses. People have been using animals for a long time, they have controlled them for even longer. But despite that, there
have still been some positive outcomes from this otherwise dark subject. Some people support the things that are happening to these animals. But
others make it their mission to stand up for the animals that are mistreated everyday. Animal cruelty can mean many things to many different people, it
can be a controversial topic, with many different sides and stories to it, it has a long history, much of it being good, much of it bad.
There are more types of animal cruelty then one could even imagine. Many people do not consider that what they are eating, or wearing, or using, or
enjoying came at the cost of an animal. According to Rachel Hajar, one form of animal cruelty that has been put into the spotlight in recent years is
animal testing (Alternative to Animal Testing 39). Animals are brought into labs and spend their entire lives there being tortured, used, and
experimented on. It's estimated that each year, more than 100 million animals are used for experimenting. They use all sorts of animals, including
dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, fish, and more. They are forced to live in cages, confined, and isolated. Another form of animal cruelty can be

6. A.How is this an ethical and moral issue? What are the different opinions about the actual issue or how to solve the issue? Animal cruelty can be
either deliberate abuse or simply the failure to take care of an animal. Either way, or whether the animal is a pet, a farm animal or wildlife, the victim
can suffer terribly. Animal cruelty is an ethical and moral dilemma as there is no clear right or wrong answers that can solve all of the issues. There
are numerous opinions on how this issue can be solved, these include; âCreating more animal protection laws e.g. ban animals in circuses âHarsher
fines for animal abusers âEducate people on why animal cruelty is a problem ANIMAL ABUSEâ CATHOLIC Catholic views on animal abuse is
varied greatly. The 'traditional' view is that humans are made in a different image than animals. It proclaims that humans have been given 'dominion'
over nature, meaning humans can use animals in accordance to their own needs (gen 1:28). However, many Catholics disagree and believe that God
gave human 'stewardship' over the animals, which means we are put on this Earth to look after and care for God's creation (Luke 12:6). There are a
number of Catholic authorities that discourage animal abuse; The Church of England held a conference in 1988 and 1986 that was concerned with this
issue. It reinforced that 'human beings are both coâpartners with the rest of creation and living bridges between Heaven and Earth, with responsibility

"Americans have been keeping wild animals in captivity for entertainment purposes for more than 150 years" causing many animals to live horrible
lives in imprisonment. I believe the imprisonment of animals for human entertainment to be Animal Cruelty. Animal Cruelty is the crime of inflicting
physical pain, suffering or death on an animal. The first U.S Zoo, the Philadelphia Zoo opened in 1874. This opened a path for others to go out into
the wild and capture wild, exotic animals to show off to the public and make money. Many make this seem harmless by releasing the animals back into
the wild, causing more problems. The capturing of animals results many to become a risk to endangerment. Now, ironically, the capturing of animals is

Circuses to me, are the most cruel to animals when training for acts, animals are whipped if they make a mistake instead of being loved. Animals being
used for entertainment thwarts the animals natural behavior and instinct. In Circuses, animals are forced to do unnatural acts and get punished if they
do not do it right. Therefore, they lose their instincts as they become accustomed to the circus acts. Animals all have a natural behavior and instincts
they are born with made to survive in their habitat/environment. When animals are captured and trained to do other than what they are used to they
lose the knowledge of being able to depend on themselves and become dependent and the humans that captured them. A 26â year old orca was released
into the wild after being kept imprisoned for years to film a movie called "Free Willy". The orca was taught how to survive in his environment before
being released but was accustomed to having human companions and died a year after being released because he did not recognize a life without
humans. This shows the longâterm effect of capturing a wild animal and keeping it imprisoned for a long period of time. Wild animals are meant to be
wild and stay in the wild. When animals have human companionship for a long time they become used to the idea of being around humans and doing
tricks/acts to avoid punishment.

The Problem: Animal Cruelty
Animal cruelty could involve beating, shooting or stabbing animals, or setting them on fire. Neglect is often a problem because people buy pets
then forget about them. Neglect is not giving an animal necessary food, water, shelter or vet care. Because their misery is often prolonged, animals
who die of neglect can suffer just as much as animals who are mistreated on purpose. Neglect and abandonment are the most common forms of pet
animal abuse in the United States. Each year 10,000 bull dogs die in bullfighting. Mice represent the largest increase in research with their numbers
going from 1.2 million to nearly 1.9 million in that period. Other animals also saw increases. For example, other animals increased from 7,292 to
11,167, though the change was not statistically significant. Furthermore, it has been estimated that there are 900 to 2,000 new cases every year of
animal hoarding in the US, with 250,000 animals falling victim. Also, over 115 million animals including dogs, cats, horses, monkeys, birds, and a
bunch of other animals are killed in laboratory experiments conducted by men and women worldwide for chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing
every year. Regardless of how trivial or painful animal experiments may be, none are prohibited by law. Also, it is amazing that experiments can be
done on any animal because the animals have no way of defending themselves or giving consent, humans can just do whatever they please.
The Solution: Human Cruelty Therefore, the solution to stop animals from being mistreated and experimented on, we should turn to
experimenting on humans and mistreating them purposefully. For instance, all of the homeless people we see on the side of the roads daily. They
should be picked up and taken to a special island or place and have all kinds of different experiments on them. So we can try and find a cure for
cancer and overload the homeless people we pick up of the roads and inject different types of drugs. If we inject all kinds of different drugs into them,
we will be able to see the side effects and reactions to the drugs. Also, we should be targeting homeless single adults have much higher rates of serious
mental illness, addiction

9. Animal Cruelty : Animal Rights And Human Rights
Animals are a common member of many households and society as a whole. Being the dog lover that I am, I have experienced both personally and
observed the love and compassion that many share for their animals. There are individuals that will go to the extreme to take care of their animals
because they view their existence equally superior as ours. Unfortunately there are many who look to animals for personal benefits or simply don't
consider them equally important in any manner. These different views regarding animals contribute to the controversy of whether animals genuinely
have any rights. Rights should be granted to any living creature that has the ability to suffer. Amongst the many animal right issues existing in the
world, one that I feel is most common is animal cruelty. Naturally when thinking of animal cruelty one might think of neglect or physical abuse, when
in reality animal cruelty comes in many forms. Though animal cruelty is not singled towards one species or animal, dog fighting is a terrible act that
tends to go unnoticed. These dog fights take place for numerous reasons whether it just be for entertainment purposes or profit. Resulting from these
fights, there are many injured or killed animals. Similar to us, dogs have the ability to feel pain. We don't want anyone intentionally inflicting pain upon
us so why is it fairs for animals to experience such treatment? Animals serve a purpose, whether that be companionship, protection etc. so the least we

Individuals who keep pace with celebrities and the fashion industry will notice a trend when it comes to Animals being worn on the runway known
as, cruelty. It comes in various forms starting with animal exploitation for fur to leather, wool, feathers, and cosmetics. "No federal humane
slaughter law or restrictions exist to protect animals and killing methods are gruesome, resulting in unbearable torment and excruciating deaths of
innocent animals who watch their fellow cage mates as they are brutally killed in front of their innocent eyes" (p. 1). It is uncanny that we as
humans are comfortable with wearing someone else's skin after they are murdered. The act of killing to wear is not necessary in this day and age,
back in prehistoric times animals were hunted for fur as they did not have any other source of warmth. Today, we no longer live in caves, live the
lifestyle of cave people or hunt as our only source of food. Hence, it is a luxury but not a necessity to wear fur which is what makes the fashion
industry even more ghastly.
Eightyâfive percent of the fur industry's skins come from animals living captive in fur factory farms. These farms can hold thousands of animals, and
their farming practices are remarkably uniform around the globe. As with other intensiveâconfinement animal farms, the methods used in fur factory
farms are designed to maximize profits, always at the expense of the animals (p. 1).

institutions that hold orcas claim to be preserving the orcas but this statement can be challenged because orcas in captivity have added on health issues

For instance, chimpanzees that are used in famous movies like the Planet of the Apes movies will often start their career very early on in their life. As
a consequence these animals are subject to physical and mental abuse.
Performing chimpanzees are taken from their mothers at a very young age. This causes tremendous emotional and psychological distress to the
mother as well as to the infant. Trainers frequently use fear and physical discipline to control their apes and the degree of force increases as the apes

However, even after they are retired, film chimpanzees have no guarantee that their way of living will be restored. Some chimpanzees are lucky and
placed in sanctuaries where they will be able to enjoy the rest of their lives roaming a large enclosure while others do not share the same fate and end

We can learn a lot about a society and its future by the manner in which their children behave. There are severe consequences of animal abuse when

Iams, a leading maker of dog food, also claims they purchase and test on animals specifically bred for experiments. Iams also told PETA they "Will
