Reflection Paper On Perseverance
Research Reflection
Before I began researching I was really passionate about the ability to persevere and I knew I wanted to talk about perseverance and explain why
it was such an essential characteristic to have. I especially wanted to find examples of many others that had to persevere to get through their own
tough times. But when I originally started researching my topic I did not exactly have anything in mind about what I was exactly looking for. This
was mainly due to that I had the ideas in my head but did not know how to put those in a way that I could deliver it for the whole class to
understand. So as I began researching I focused on just using perseverance in school, like not giving up after not getting a concept the first time. But
after looking through a few articles I found many examples of when perseverance was used in other ways, such as building things for society or ways
in which one can be successful. This then broadened my perspective on perseverance and showed me the benefits of it.
The "Grit: the Power of Passion and Perseverance." Ted Talk video was extremely helpful for my research since it gave me numerous amounts of
examples of how the main thing that distinguishes kids for who they are is perseverance. I found out that one's intelligence quality is not determined
by their test scores, but rather it is determined by how they improve on making those test scores the best they can be. Most of the things in the Ted

Perseverance: Overcoming Obstacles
Picture this... you are a young and single mother of two, struggling to manage a job while taking care of your children. You're a teenager competing
for the only varsity position left on the basketball team, or you're a patient with stage two Leukemia battling for your life. All of these people have
one thing in common: Perseverance. They are keeping their heads up when circumstances seem dire and hopeless. They find the sunshine during the
storm and choose to keep moving forward, never giving up. Some people may be thinking "What is perseverance?" or "What does having
perseverance really mean?" Perseverance is the ability to keep fighting for a certain belief and being able to maintain a strong effort towards a goal no

Determination and Perseverance always goes together. They are inseparable twin that nature defines. I have discussed about Perseverance in
previous pages as well, here again I bring it to you not just because it is flexible to talk about but because it is the key in wilding greatness. Have
you ever set targets for yourself that you've not been able to achieve or attain? And did you end up wondering just why things don't seem to work out
in your favor? If so, you are not alone.
A lot of people by no means seem to successful in their various accomplishments which they have solely placed before themselves; mostly they often
lose hope in their knack to do well on their goals when faced with difficulties.

The only way to stand firm and persevere is to believe in yourself. Romans 14:22 "Hast thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that
condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth" With believe you can achieve great things, gaining courage. Only then would the impossible
become possible, only then would you look in the mirror and see your achievements reflecting back at your eyes. In the scripture again it says in 2
Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight"
There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be.
That's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down. But those are the times
when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.
There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.
Constantly keep yourself headed inf the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger

efforts to succeed.
We are high school students and that means that the sense of urgency to strive for and to achieve personal success is now. With this urgency comes
the expectation of having to persevere. This year has not been as easy one for us as a school body. We have been

Narrative Essay On Perseverance
Perseverance
Growing up, I believed that my family's lifestyles, illnesses, and issues did not necessarily affect me. The problems that they were facing were
only theirs to face. It never dawned on me that later in life I would be subjected to the same types of setbacks as they were. One of which included
finding my voice. I used to be quiet. My ideas and thoughts were in my imagination because it appeared as though no one was willing to listen. I
used to hide. The shadows were more of a friend than anyone of my peers. That was until I found my voice; my voice empowered me. It gave me a
reason to fight for what I believe in. My voice taught me that I am not that same little girl who was scared, broken, and alone. I am now a young lady
who is fierce, determined, and loved.
My habitual origin was a low–income household. That type of environment instills the mentality that "you have to get it how you live." At the time, the
unsubstantial status of my mother's financial stability caused certain difficulties to come to pass. One instance of an difficulty that came to pass due
to the unsubstantial status of my mother's financial stability was that she could only buy one pair of uniform for every other school year. I was aware
of how the other children were mocking me behind my back, although some even chose to do so in front of my face. At the time I did not understand
how materialistic parents unintentionally raise their children to be because my parents raised me to just seek happiness in every dark situation. I began
to resent my parents for the financial difficulties I inherited.
I invested more time into writing due to the fact that at that time a sheet of paper and a pen felt more like a friend than any of my peers. My only
childhood friend told me " One day you are going to have to fight back and show everyone that you're strong and not just some pussy to beat up on.
But until then I am down to teach you how. " (Martin ) The only fight I knew was the fight that I witnessed my mother go through. That fight consisted
of several illnesses and continuing to work to support a family of eight at the time. My mother's condition revolves around a family history of illnesses
including: diabetes and high blood

The Tenet of Perseverance
The tenet perseverance applies to my own life out of taekwondo and my taekwondo journey to get my black belt in multiple ways. This tenet helps
me in my life and in my journey by helping me to never give up and reach higher goals in life. Perseverance helps me to never give up in many ways.
Perseverance helps me to push through my life and taekwondo no matter what obstacles are thrown at me whether it is a kick, a pad, or it is a delay
that will set me backwards in life. If I did not have perseverance in my life I would not move anywhere in life, school, or my journey for my black belt
or maybe even a higher rank. When I got my white belt I tried the best I could in taekwondo because I was "Super Kid," so if I wasn't like this
would have just given up and I would not be where I am today at recommended black belt. When I fell off the wall at school and really scratched my
side, I did not stop soccer or taekwondo I pushed through physical obstacle and did all of my normal activities. This tenet helps me to embrace and
learn from my setbacks. Once...show more content...
If I don't get the grade I want on a test I study harder for the next test or I go and find out why I got the answers wrong, by doing that I will be more
prepared for the next upcoming test. In taekwondo if I can't do a certain kick or technique I go home and practice so I will be better at the kick. So, if I
never aimed for higher goals I would be just another plain, boring kid who does not do taekwondo and always gives up when a challenge is insight.
Also, perseverance is great because it helps you to know you are know you are always closer to a goal. If a certain goal is too large or you don't think
you will achieve it you can always set smaller goals to work up to your large end goal in school or taekwondo like getting your black belt. It also works
the other way around if the goal I set is too low or too easy for I will set a higher

The Importance Of Perseverance
Every person on this earth experiences pain. There are no exceptions, no anomalies. The fact that we endure pain, does not mean that all we ever
experience will be pain. Lance Armstrong once said, "Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will
subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever." From this, we can take that if we persevere, pain will eventually
end, but if we surrender to that pain, we will suffer the effects for much longer than we would have had we pushed through the struggle. There are
three main places where we can see success through perseverance: in our careers, emotions, and education. In all of these subjects, true success is
achieved with plenty of perseverance. All of these are opportunities to connect with Lance Armstrong's motivational statement regarding
perseverance. If we take this and learn from it, we are likely to experience success in our own lives. When connecting perseverance to our personal
lives, we can see success through perseverance in our careers. When the average person starts working, whether it be at a fast food chain or a job in
their chosen line of work, they typically do not begin at the highest position, they start at the bottom. People make their way up to higher positions
through promotions, which are achieved through hard work, and work that was done well. This work is not always easy and is in fact, often difficult.

Perseverance is if your knocked down that you will always get back up and keep moving forward. If you fail at something, you have to keep striving
for your goal and if you keep persevering you will reach it. "I've failed over and over again in my life and that's why I succeeded" (Michael Jordan).
Failure doesn't stop you from reaching your goal it helps you know what not to Do next time. When I got a concussion it was really hard for me
because I couldn't play any sports or do anything athletic for about 4 months. I didn't wait to be cleared and still played sports at school and that's why
I think it took so long to recover. When I was finally cleared to do play sports again, I was not as fit as I was before I got the concussion because I
didn't do much running. I needed to get my fitness level back for soccer so I wouldn't get tired in games or practice. When my team would go on runs

Statement On Perseverance
Perseverance is the ability to confront hardships even in the face of failure. Perseverance is not being afraid to keep trying when all hope seems
lost. Perseverance is my virtue when it comes to the endeavours in my life. Since I was a little girl, I have always had people in my life who have
inspired me to do my best. My sister began a singing career at just 16 years old and my grandfather grew up with nothing only to be running one of
the top banks in the US. These individuals have displayed to me the value of hard work, embracing new ideas, and being entrepreneurial.

The STEM club could have encouraged so many to push themselves out of their comfort zones to not only take more STEM classes but also pursue
colleges with similar STEM programs and majors. Before I knew it, a new opportunity came and I lost my chance to make the impact I so desired
to make. This entire experience did not turn out the way I had hoped but it helped me realize the importance of time management, the need to be
driven, and the ability to accept and learn from failure. It is the ability to keep moving forward and get back on one's feet that allows for most
entrepreneurs to succeed. Often, we forget that for every one success there are hundreds and thousands of failures that come before it. I still have a
long way to go but to start, my first recovery–step since my failed attempt has been a blog I created called "Womenictionary" which gives women of
all backgrounds the opportunity to re–define themselves in a way most people wouldn't by just looking at them. Moving forward, I plan to pocket this
experience of failure and remember it as I pursue all my future

The Importance Of Perseverance
Perseverance is defined as a steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, or state, especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.
I chose this word as my theological theme to analyze because of what the Wael Ghonim and the Egyptians had to endure, and my own relationship to
the word. Wael Ghonim created the webpage "We are all Khaled Said," to aid the Egyptian nation to fight through the tyrannical rule that heldEgypt
hostage. The death of the this young man made Egyptians realize how easily that could have been a loved one or themselves. This word also reminds
me of my parents: "Annaliet, si no trabajas duro y te dedicas a Dios, no estГЎs adorando a Dios." My parents always told me that God created us to
worship him and one way of doing that is through hard work because the ability to work is a gift that God gave to mankind. By this, they also
meant that following God's word and keeping our faith for Him would be a constant struggle, similarly like Jones believes, because of the world
that we live in. Revelations 2:10 says, "Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Beware, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that
you may be tested, and for ten days you will have affliction. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life." In whatever we do, wherever
we live –– there are always going to be circumstances that we have to face, but the real test is keeping our faith to God while we go through these
hardships. In

Speech On Perseverance
Perseverance; The Key to Greatness Whether it reveals itself in time of distress, or moments of hardships, hidden beneath the grime and gloom of the
catacombs within our illustrious brains, lies an, almost mythical power that moves mountains and carves canyons. This compulsion is the lifeblood that
fuels the impossible and empowers the ordinary. This power is not a work of God or a mutation of fictional proportions, gifted to only superheroes and
metahumans, but a tiny instinct that lies in all of us. This spirit within us that shines in our brains at our darkest hour, is known as perseverance. It is
through this, that the human body can bend, endure and withstand the feral and wild furies of their coming infernos. It is through perseverance that the
pistons of accomplishment pump and the wheels of success churn with a ferocious roar. Literature, films and society buzzes and swarms with figures
such as these. A marvelous example of this includes Sue from The Last Leaf by O. Henry. Unlike the latter of other literary personas, Sue not only
needs to balance her promising artistic career with her personal life, but she must endure through the agonizing talks of death, from her withering
friend, Johnsy. However, literary pieces, although profuse in perseverance, are nothing compared to our wondrous society. A real world example of
such valor and pertinaciousness include Benjamin Mee, the inspiration behind the 2011 film, We Bought a Zoo, who withstanded through the

I believe that when you persevere you can accomplish countless things. When someone says perseverance, I believe that people automatically think

My first reason is skiing. I don't ski, never did and never wanted to, but when a good majority of my friends and family urged me to ski, I knew there

At the expert level, sprinters start the race by expecting a hunkering position in the beginning pieces before inclining forward and step by step
moving into an upright position as the race advances and energy is picked up. Competitors stay in the same path on the running track all through all

Theme Of Perseverance
A key theme from this book is perseverance when life becomes strenuous. An example is when Hasari moved to a completely new town with his
whole family. He had barely any money, and many mouths to feed. Many people who are poor beg for money, but he refused to do so because he
pushed through and found a job. Hasari found a job as a rickshaw puller, which is a human powered machine where a worker runs and pulls a two
wheeled wagon behind, and was invited in 1869. This work is extremely back–breaking, and has now been outlawed in some countries because of
concerns for the well–being of workers. His willingness to do any job no matter how strenuous the work may be shows his perseverance through life.
This is inspiring because sometimes in our world,

Short Speech On Perseverance
Literally, perseverance is the steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. However, this simple word with an
equally simple definition is the backbone of almost every great historical event, legend, and story. Perseverance tells of the people throughout
history who didn't back down when faced with adversity. It talks of those who refused to quit despite facing a high probability of death. Everyone
wishes to have such a trait, yet few wish the occasion to arise in which they would have to challenge it. However, when a long and formidable path
comes into view, one with true perseverance, and a small bit of courage, will walk the path with God and see it through. As mentioned earlier, not
everyone asks to be tested, especially in a life threatening situation. Asked or not, there are those who refuse to give up, and always keep fighting. My
mother is one of those people. In 2002, during an eighteen month timespan, Ma' was diagnosed with Cervical cancer, skin cancer, Lymphoma, and
Leukemia twice. She was given a minute chance of surviving and was expected to live no longer than four years. God however, stepped in and took
mom in His arms; guided her through everything. She put her faith in Him and the chemo, transplants, surgeries, everything was persevered through
with God's help. Fifteen years later, Ma's about to see her youngest child graduate. My mother has been through more trials and tribulations than anyone

Perseverance, purpose, and passion. These three words are core in shaping me to be the person I am today. Perseverance is an imbibed trait that

people who mean the most to me. The words "thank you" are insufficient to repay their unending support and tireless love for me. Another blessing

Football was both a mental and physical challenge, but what has truly driven me to strap on the green and black helmet everyday was my utmost
respect towards my loyal teammates and to the legacy of the football program built at Skutt Catholic. Every fall season, I was blessed to do what I
loved doing most as part of my everyday routine. This was because after an extensive and lively football practice, I was able to participate in
another activity which is band. Having a hectic schedule trained me to set my priorities straight to maintain my honor roll grades and to always
act accordingly. Being involved in both activities opened my eyes on what my true motivations were for the activities I was passionate about. I
take great pleasure in the time and ability I am given to serve others. Service comes in various forms and I strongly believe that no act is too small
to be of big help to others. Serving others is vital in my life because I am enlightened to pause on my own worries in order to care and act for
groups, causes, and people who are in need. My advocacy to help is best exemplified in regular voluntary work at the Brookestone Meadows
retirement home. At Brookestone, I took concern for the elderly by spending time with them. I am strongly motivated to volunteer for the elderly
because I consider it as making an impact in today's world by returning the care to those who cared for the succeeding generations' future.

Reflection Paper On Perseverance

  • 1. Reflection Paper On Perseverance Research Reflection Before I began researching I was really passionate about the ability to persevere and I knew I wanted to talk about perseverance and explain why it was such an essential characteristic to have. I especially wanted to find examples of many others that had to persevere to get through their own tough times. But when I originally started researching my topic I did not exactly have anything in mind about what I was exactly looking for. This was mainly due to that I had the ideas in my head but did not know how to put those in a way that I could deliver it for the whole class to understand. So as I began researching I focused on just using perseverance in school, like not giving up after not getting a concept the first time. But after looking through a few articles I found many examples of when perseverance was used in other ways, such as building things for society or ways in which one can be successful. This then broadened my perspective on perseverance and showed me the benefits of it. The "Grit: the Power of Passion and Perseverance." Ted Talk video was extremely helpful for my research since it gave me numerous amounts of examples of how the main thing that distinguishes kids for who they are is perseverance. I found out that one's intelligence quality is not determined by their test scores, but rather it is determined by how they improve on making those test scores the best they can be. Most of the things in the Ted Talk I had heard about before or Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Perseverance: Overcoming Obstacles Picture this... you are a young and single mother of two, struggling to manage a job while taking care of your children. You're a teenager competing for the only varsity position left on the basketball team, or you're a patient with stage two Leukemia battling for your life. All of these people have one thing in common: Perseverance. They are keeping their heads up when circumstances seem dire and hopeless. They find the sunshine during the storm and choose to keep moving forward, never giving up. Some people may be thinking "What is perseverance?" or "What does having perseverance really mean?" Perseverance is the ability to keep fighting for a certain belief and being able to maintain a strong effort towards a goal no matter how many hardships Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Essay On Power Of Perseverance Power of Perseverance Determination and Perseverance always goes together. They are inseparable twin that nature defines. I have discussed about Perseverance in previous pages as well, here again I bring it to you not just because it is flexible to talk about but because it is the key in wilding greatness. Have you ever set targets for yourself that you've not been able to achieve or attain? And did you end up wondering just why things don't seem to work out in your favor? If so, you are not alone. A lot of people by no means seem to successful in their various accomplishments which they have solely placed before themselves; mostly they often lose hope in their knack to do well on their goals when faced with difficulties. Nonetheless,...show more content... The only way to stand firm and persevere is to believe in yourself. Romans 14:22 "Hast thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth" With believe you can achieve great things, gaining courage. Only then would the impossible become possible, only then would you look in the mirror and see your achievements reflecting back at your eyes. In the scripture again it says in 2 Corinthians 5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight" There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be. That's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down. But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself. There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them. Constantly keep yourself headed inf the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Perseverance Essay What is perseverance? Perseverance is the ability to go on when things seem hopeless. It is also a measure of success, or at least how much sacrifice one is willing to make in the name of success. As students, it is impossible to achieve personal success without having a goal, or direction. The goal and direction that often propels us to achieve is perseverance. Perseverance is the ability to forge ahead despite setbacks that threaten to undermine all efforts to succeed. We are high school students and that means that the sense of urgency to strive for and to achieve personal success is now. With this urgency comes the expectation of having to persevere. This year has not been as easy one for us as a school body. We have been ...show more content... There is no shame in falling; the shame is in accepting the the fall as defeat. Nelson Mandella once said, "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall." That is the essence of persevering––finding the will to get up even though you know you are being counted out. Each day is a challenge for some of us. Some of you struggle to get up each morning and make it to school. But you find it within yourself to do because the hope of a better tomorrow compels you to do so. It is not easy to explain to teachers or other students that there was no one to wake you up and see that you were ready for school. The moment you leave your house and step on the bus, you are one step closer to realizing your dream, to fulfilling your purpose. That is what perseverance is. It is the finding the strength to do the impossible because you know that all things are possible. It is understanding that your tomorrow has great possibilities because of the steps you take today. I had a neighbor whose parents were divorced, but it seems like both parents divorced her. Her mother had custody, but she was seldom around. My friend raised herself. She gave a whole new meaning to the phrase "putting yourself through school", but she was in middle school. However, she had a dream of something better and it was evident that it required self–motivation and determination. We have all been called upon Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Narrative Essay On Perseverance Perseverance Growing up, I believed that my family's lifestyles, illnesses, and issues did not necessarily affect me. The problems that they were facing were only theirs to face. It never dawned on me that later in life I would be subjected to the same types of setbacks as they were. One of which included finding my voice. I used to be quiet. My ideas and thoughts were in my imagination because it appeared as though no one was willing to listen. I used to hide. The shadows were more of a friend than anyone of my peers. That was until I found my voice; my voice empowered me. It gave me a reason to fight for what I believe in. My voice taught me that I am not that same little girl who was scared, broken, and alone. I am now a young lady who is fierce, determined, and loved. My habitual origin was a low–income household. That type of environment instills the mentality that "you have to get it how you live." At the time, the unsubstantial status of my mother's financial stability caused certain difficulties to come to pass. One instance of an difficulty that came to pass due to the unsubstantial status of my mother's financial stability was that she could only buy one pair of uniform for every other school year. I was aware of how the other children were mocking me behind my back, although some even chose to do so in front of my face. At the time I did not understand how materialistic parents unintentionally raise their children to be because my parents raised me to just seek happiness in every dark situation. I began to resent my parents for the financial difficulties I inherited. I invested more time into writing due to the fact that at that time a sheet of paper and a pen felt more like a friend than any of my peers. My only childhood friend told me " One day you are going to have to fight back and show everyone that you're strong and not just some pussy to beat up on. But until then I am down to teach you how. " (Martin ) The only fight I knew was the fight that I witnessed my mother go through. That fight consisted of several illnesses and continuing to work to support a family of eight at the time. My mother's condition revolves around a family history of illnesses including: diabetes and high blood Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Examples Of Perseverance Essay The Tenet of Perseverance The tenet perseverance applies to my own life out of taekwondo and my taekwondo journey to get my black belt in multiple ways. This tenet helps me in my life and in my journey by helping me to never give up and reach higher goals in life. Perseverance helps me to never give up in many ways. Perseverance helps me to push through my life and taekwondo no matter what obstacles are thrown at me whether it is a kick, a pad, or it is a delay that will set me backwards in life. If I did not have perseverance in my life I would not move anywhere in life, school, or my journey for my black belt or maybe even a higher rank. When I got my white belt I tried the best I could in taekwondo because I was "Super Kid," so if I wasn't like this would have just given up and I would not be where I am today at recommended black belt. When I fell off the wall at school and really scratched my side, I did not stop soccer or taekwondo I pushed through physical obstacle and did all of my normal activities. This tenet helps me to embrace and learn from my setbacks. Once...show more content... If I don't get the grade I want on a test I study harder for the next test or I go and find out why I got the answers wrong, by doing that I will be more prepared for the next upcoming test. In taekwondo if I can't do a certain kick or technique I go home and practice so I will be better at the kick. So, if I never aimed for higher goals I would be just another plain, boring kid who does not do taekwondo and always gives up when a challenge is insight. Also, perseverance is great because it helps you to know you are know you are always closer to a goal. If a certain goal is too large or you don't think you will achieve it you can always set smaller goals to work up to your large end goal in school or taekwondo like getting your black belt. It also works the other way around if the goal I set is too low or too easy for I will set a higher Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. The Importance Of Perseverance Every person on this earth experiences pain. There are no exceptions, no anomalies. The fact that we endure pain, does not mean that all we ever experience will be pain. Lance Armstrong once said, "Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever." From this, we can take that if we persevere, pain will eventually end, but if we surrender to that pain, we will suffer the effects for much longer than we would have had we pushed through the struggle. There are three main places where we can see success through perseverance: in our careers, emotions, and education. In all of these subjects, true success is achieved with plenty of perseverance. All of these are opportunities to connect with Lance Armstrong's motivational statement regarding perseverance. If we take this and learn from it, we are likely to experience success in our own lives. When connecting perseverance to our personal lives, we can see success through perseverance in our careers. When the average person starts working, whether it be at a fast food chain or a job in their chosen line of work, they typically do not begin at the highest position, they start at the bottom. People make their way up to higher positions through promotions, which are achieved through hard work, and work that was done well. This work is not always easy and is in fact, often difficult. If you fail at something, you have to keep striving for your goal and if you keep persevering you will reach it. "I've failed over and over again in my life and that's why I succeeded" (Michael Jordan). Failure doesn't stop you from reaching your goal it helps you know what not to Do next time. When I got a concussion it was really hard for me because I couldn't play any sports or do anything athletic for about 4 months. I didn't wait to be cleared and still played sports at school and that's why I think it took so long to recover. When I was finally cleared to do play sports again, I was not as fit as I was before I got the concussion because I didn't do much running. I needed to get my fitness level back for soccer so I wouldn't get tired in games or practice. • 9. Statement On Perseverance Perseverance is the ability to confront hardships even in the face of failure. Perseverance is not being afraid to keep trying when all hope seems lost. Perseverance is my virtue when it comes to the endeavours in my life. Since I was a little girl, I have always had people in my life who have inspired me to do my best. My sister began a singing career at just 16 years old and my grandfather grew up with nothing only to be running one of the top banks in the US. These individuals have displayed to me the value of hard work, embracing new ideas, and being entrepreneurial. Last summer, I had the opportunity to attend a tennis program at Stanford University. While I was there, I was introduced to the program Women in Science, Technology, Engineering,...show more content... The STEM club could have encouraged so many to push themselves out of their comfort zones to not only take more STEM classes but also pursue colleges with similar STEM programs and majors. Before I knew it, a new opportunity came and I lost my chance to make the impact I so desired to make. This entire experience did not turn out the way I had hoped but it helped me realize the importance of time management, the need to be driven, and the ability to accept and learn from failure. It is the ability to keep moving forward and get back on one's feet that allows for most entrepreneurs to succeed. Often, we forget that for every one success there are hundreds and thousands of failures that come before it. I still have a long way to go but to start, my first recovery–step since my failed attempt has been a blog I created called "Womenictionary" which gives women of all backgrounds the opportunity to re–define themselves in a way most people wouldn't by just looking at them. Moving forward, I plan to pocket this experience of failure and remember it as I pursue all my future Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. The Importance Of Perseverance Perseverance is defined as a steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, or state, especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. I chose this word as my theological theme to analyze because of what the Wael Ghonim and the Egyptians had to endure, and my own relationship to the word. Wael Ghonim created the webpage "We are all Khaled Said," to aid the Egyptian nation to fight through the tyrannical rule that heldEgypt hostage. The death of the this young man made Egyptians realize how easily that could have been a loved one or themselves. This word also reminds me of my parents: "Annaliet, si no trabajas duro y te dedicas a Dios, no estГЎs adorando a Dios." My parents always told me that God created us to worship him and one way of doing that is through hard work because the ability to work is a gift that God gave to mankind. By this, they also meant that following God's word and keeping our faith for Him would be a constant struggle, similarly like Jones believes, because of the world that we live in. Revelations 2:10 says, "Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Beware, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have affliction. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life." In whatever we do, wherever we live –– there are always going to be circumstances that we have to face, but the real test is keeping our faith to God while we go through these hardships. • 11. Speech On Perseverance Perseverance; The Key to Greatness Whether it reveals itself in time of distress, or moments of hardships, hidden beneath the grime and gloom of the catacombs within our illustrious brains, lies an, almost mythical power that moves mountains and carves canyons. This compulsion is the lifeblood that fuels the impossible and empowers the ordinary. This power is not a work of God or a mutation of fictional proportions, gifted to only superheroes and metahumans, but a tiny instinct that lies in all of us. This spirit within us that shines in our brains at our darkest hour, is known as perseverance. It is through this, that the human body can bend, endure and withstand the feral and wild furies of their coming infernos. It is through perseverance that the pistons of accomplishment pump and the wheels of success churn with a ferocious roar. Literature, films and society buzzes and swarms with figures such as these. A marvelous example of this includes Sue from The Last Leaf by O. Henry. Unlike the latter of other literary personas, Sue not only needs to balance her promising artistic career with her personal life, but she must endure through the agonizing talks of death, from her withering friend, Johnsy. However, literary pieces, although profuse in perseverance, are nothing compared to our wondrous society. A real world example of such valor and pertinaciousness include Benjamin Mee, the inspiration behind the 2011 film, We Bought a Zoo, who withstanded through the devastating Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 13. College Essay About Perseverance I believe that when you persevere you can accomplish countless things. When someone says perseverance, I believe that people automatically think about working hard and getting rewards after. While working hard is a big part in it, there is more to it. I am going to share a couple of stories that will hopefully change your mind about perseverance. My first reason is skiing. I don't ski, never did and never wanted to, but when a good majority of my friends and family urged me to ski, I knew there was something I was missing. Finally about 4 months ago, I tried it and my life changed from the moment I hoped of the lift. • 14. What Is Perseverance? At the expert level, sprinters start the race by expecting a hunkering position in the beginning pieces before inclining forward and step by step moving into an upright position as the race advances and energy is picked up. Competitors stay in the same path on the running track all through all sprinting occasions, with the sole special case of the 400 m inside. Races up to 100 m are generally engaged upon increasing speed to a competitor's most extreme rate. All sprints past this separation progressively fuse a component of perseverance. Human physiology manages that a runner's close top velocity can't be kept up for over thirty seconds or so on the grounds that lactic corrosive develops once leg muscles start to endure oxygen hardship. He had barely any money, and many mouths to feed. Many people who are poor beg for money, but he refused to do so because he pushed through and found a job. Hasari found a job as a rickshaw puller, which is a human powered machine where a worker runs and pulls a two wheeled wagon behind, and was invited in 1869. This work is extremely back–breaking, and has now been outlawed in some countries because of concerns for the well–being of workers. His willingness to do any job no matter how strenuous the work may be shows his perseverance through life. This is inspiring because sometimes in our world, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Short Speech On Perseverance Literally, perseverance is the steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success. However, this simple word with an equally simple definition is the backbone of almost every great historical event, legend, and story. Perseverance tells of the people throughout history who didn't back down when faced with adversity. It talks of those who refused to quit despite facing a high probability of death. Everyone wishes to have such a trait, yet few wish the occasion to arise in which they would have to challenge it. However, when a long and formidable path comes into view, one with true perseverance, and a small bit of courage, will walk the path with God and see it through. As mentioned earlier, not everyone asks to be tested, especially in a life threatening situation. Asked or not, there are those who refuse to give up, and always keep fighting. My mother is one of those people. In 2002, during an eighteen month timespan, Ma' was diagnosed with Cervical cancer, skin cancer, Lymphoma, and Leukemia twice. She was given a minute chance of surviving and was expected to live no longer than four years. God however, stepped in and took mom in His arms; guided her through everything. She put her faith in Him and the chemo, transplants, surgeries, everything was persevered through with God's help. Fifteen years later, Ma's about to see her youngest child graduate. Football was both a mental and physical challenge, but what has truly driven me to strap on the green and black helmet everyday was my utmost respect towards my loyal teammates and to the legacy of the football program built at Skutt Catholic. Every fall season, I was blessed to do what I loved doing most as part of my everyday routine. This was because after an extensive and lively football practice, I was able to participate in another activity which is band. Having a hectic schedule trained me to set my priorities straight to maintain my honor roll grades and to always act accordingly. Being involved in both activities opened my eyes on what my true motivations were for the activities I was passionate about. I take great pleasure in the time and ability I am given to serve others. Service comes in various forms and I strongly believe that no act is too small to be of big help to others. Nelson Mandella once said, "The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall." That is the essence of persevering––finding the will to get up even though you know you are being counted out. Each day is a challenge for some of us. Some of us struggle to get up each morning and make it to school. But we find it within ourselves to do because the hope of a better tomorrow compels us to do so. Giving up Get more content on HelpWriting.net
