understanding. For instance was it really a good idea for his mother to move so far away from her child and then force him to travel back and forth

You are not the person on the outside that you are on the inside but the pain ties humans together. "Boy 21" a novel by Matthew Quick demonstrates a
relationship between two characters who believe they are so different–but pain due to tragedy bring them closer.Quick's novel addresses the
coming–of–age tropes of identity and community, as well as the confusion often evidenced during this adolescent timeframe, a period often infused
with love, hurt and clarity. They walk on the path to redemption while disorienting pain. Quick masters the authenticity of mystery also maintaining a
sense of overwhelming sadness in the setting.
The novel opens as Finley, the main character, lives in Bellmont. He describes it as a rundown town, full of drug dealers and gangs. Finley plays
basketball which consumes him, also he trains with his girlfriend Erin.Finley's Coach tells him that a new kid, Russell Allen, who will be moving due
to his parents being murdered. This shows the mysteriousness in Russell's name. " Russell isn't exactly going by the name Russell at this moment in
his life." Coach glances out the windshield with this vacant look in his face. "Russell now likes to be called Boy21"( Quick 30). This leaves Finley

A character that I liked while watching the film was Boy. For an 11 year–old boy, Boy has a fantastic imagination and is always optimistic. From what
we see in the movie, Boy has had a difficult life but only when it comes to his parents. Other than that his life is all right. In some ways I can relate
to Boy because his father doesn't live with him and neither does mine, but he is always optimistic that his father will come back and see him. Boy
lives with is grandmother and 5 other kids. When his grandmother goes away to a funeral, Boy becomes in charge of the house and everyone inside
it, every night he cooks them meals and puts them to bed. I find this quite admirable of Boy because he doesn't have to do it if he doesn't want to, but
it is his responsibility so he does it. Also when his father arrives home with his two friends, Boy does the polite thing and offers them a cup of tea,
"would you fellas like a cuppa tea?" This shows that even for a young age Boy is already quite grown up and knows how to treat company. I admire
Boy because later on in the film, the father does something that hurts Boy a lot and then for Rocky's sake, who is Boy's younger brother, he forgives
his father because Rocky still thinks that his father is cool, even if Boy doesn't and Boy doesn't want to ruin that for

I would recommend the whole " I Survived " series, specifically I would recommend the I survived the Nazi Invasion, 1944, this book has a 3rd– 5th
grade interest level. I would recommend this book because Nolan has showed interest in history and has an extended prior knowledge on the
subject. Also, I would recommend books like Wonder simply because it's a book that Nolan can slightly identify with and its read at a 4th and
above grade level. When I created my library display, I used picture books and Nolan showed major interest in the book The Invisible Boy,
personally I feel that he could relate to the book even though he wasn't invisible to me or Mrs. Finster. Nolan shows an interest in learning more
about unknown people/ things, so I would highly recommend reading biographies about the most influential people in America. I've noticed Nolan
reading a Harry Potter book and over the six weeks that I spent with him he only made it through half of the book, but every day he seemed excited
about what he had read. Another series I recommend for Nolan is the Hunger Games series. The Hunger games series is more common in middle
school aged students but I think Nolan would enjoy reading these

Boy Scout : My Experience As A Boy Scout
My very first experiences as a boy scout are pretty fuzzy for I was a fairly young boy at the ripe old age of 10. I didn't start out in cub scouts as
most young scouts do, no I went directly into Boy Scouts with little to no information on what to expect other than what I had watched in film and
television. I was a young and naive boy who believed Boy Scouts was all about just learning a thing or two then getting to go on camping trips just
about every weekend. I quickly learned that couldn't have been much farther from the truth. Boy Scouts turned out to be both a more learned group,
and a more private or selected group of people than I had originally anticipated. The little troop that I called my own for roughly 4 years was Troop
77 based out of the First United Methodist Church here in Scott City. Despite the Troop's max compacity, rounding out at a staggering 7 scouts, we
always managed to find different things to do or different projects to work on. There were camping trips, crafts, community projects, and working on
getting those ever so enticing badges. I ended my scouting career with about 25 badges and approximately 17 specialty badges from the National Boy
Scout Jamboree.
Dodge City Community College was where I earned my very first badge, the Astronomy Badge. The college offered many different classes on badges
throughout one weekend in late July. My scout leader thought it would be a great idea for us newer scouts to go to a camp that wasn't too far from home

You always have to have some people around you, so that you can get support when you need it. This on the other hand means that you also have to
make a sacrifice, to be there when someone else needs help, and that is the kind of life both Will and Marcus end up with in the end of the story.

The goal of wanting to succeed is quite natural for everyone. It is not unjust to assume that all students want to become successful as well. However,
some students are more determined to succeed than others and take extreme steps to do so. Richard Rodriguez's The Scholarship Boy discusses the
issue with scholarship students. He argues the overachieving student has an eager obsession with learning. Although Rodriguez addresses the
scholarship boy obsession with success, he fails to describe the undergoing stress of the overachieving student.
The determination of an overachieving student causes an obsession with perfection. Rodriguez explains the concept of an overachiever and their want

scholarship student. Rodriguez is successful in uncovering the mind of an overachieving student. However, many overachieving students encounter an
overwhelming amount of stress while attempting to reach perfection. The student's need for perfection begins consuming every thought and ends in
constant self–evaluation. The obsession with learning causes the student to question everything that they do.
In my experience, I used to dwell on an assignment if I could not comprehend it. When I would receive a mark lower than I would have liked, I
would question my capability. For a student who is a scholarship boy, getting a mark lower than an 'A' would damage their self–worth. The process of
achieving greatness on each assignment involves an overwhelming amount of emotion. Many students stress over whether or not their work is good
enough or meeting the requirements. They are unable to properly think because every thought is controlled by self–doubt. This thought process is not
only damaging to the student's self–esteem but also causes mental and physical illnesses.
The educational journey to succeed may influence the mental health of a scholarship student. Rodriguez does not acknowledge the negative effects of
being a scholarship student. He discusses the
