1. Founded in 2016 in London, United Kingdom, Women of Purpose (WOP) is
a global volunteer service movement for empowering, women, families,
entrepreneurs, business and professional women who work to improve the
lives of women and families, in local communities and across the globe. The
president of the movement is Madame Tsitsi Bolambo. As a non-
governmental organization (NGO) the movement seeks justice, peace, and
global goodwill for women and families. The Mission Statement of the WOP
is:
Through global partnerships and a worldwide network of members, Women of
Purpose c (WOP) inspire action and create opportunities to transform the lives
of women and families by: Advocating for equity and equality; Creating safe
and healthy environments; Increasing access to Purpose; Developing
leadership and practical skills for a sustainable future. The org comprises
members worldwide who contribute time and financial support to community-
based and global projects. WOP members belong to teamwomenofpurpose,
which determine the focus of service to their communities. The name "WOP"
was coined by combining the English words women "of" purpose, and can be
taken to mean "purposeful women"
