As technology continues to transform the world of bolting threaded fasteners, more and more industries are exploring the
benefits of intelligent bolting over manual or traditional torque tools. ZIPPTORK provides bolting technologies with
extraordinary patented designs, control algorithms, and devices. Enhanced productivity, reliability, controllability, and
traceability make impact wrenches torque controllable and make the bolted joint condition such as bolt load,
temperature, and vibration possible for remote monitoring periodically or continuously.
ZIPPTORK Bolting Technologies includes two categories, i.e.
1. Torque Control System～consists of
a. Torque Controller～For controlling torque of air or DC powered impact wrenches and pulse wrenches
b. Anti-vibration Wireless Torque Transducer ～For monitoring static or dynamic bolting torque wirelessly .
c. Torque Tester～For test, calibrate torque tool output torque capability
d. Torque Tension Tester～For measuring or simulating the bolt load induced with its equivalent residual
torque while tightening specific thread fasteners to formed a bolted joint under predetermined operation condition.
2. Bolt Load Control System～consists of
a. Anti-vibration Sensing Washer～For sensing and controlling the bolt load induced on the bolted joint throughout the

b. Anti-vibration Bolt Load Transducer ～For sensing and controlling the bolt load induced on the threaded fasteners

How to select an air impact wrench
• Before bolting, refer to the chart below while considering the operation conditions such as the working air pressure, the air pipe line arrangement, the
characteristics of the thread fasteners, how many seconds the job need to be finished and the target torque required for the reference of your selection.。
• In general, most of air impact wrenches specify its torque capacity what is measured under 90 PSI (6.3Kg/cm2) working air pressure and highest air
consumption rate while tightening a hard joint for 5 or 10 seconds.
• For instance, if a hard joint to be tightened to a target torque 100NM within 2 seconds, it’s recommended to select a air impact wrench with nominated
torque capacity 300Nm measured in 5 seconds.
• Instead, if a soft joint to be tightened to a target torque 100NM within 2 seconds, it’s recommended to select a air impact wrench with nominated torque
capacity 600Nm measured in 5 seconds.
How to select a wireless torque transducer-
• It’s recommended to select the torque capacity of the torque transducer 1.5～ 2 times of the target torque of the job
• If the target torque TT is 100NM，then a nominated torque capacity of a torque transducer is better 1.5 times of the target torque and the best will be 2
time, say 200NM.

• For bolting torque capacity test, it’s required to
specify the torque tool model and specification, the
power supply condition such as air pressure or DC
tool voltage and flow rate as well as the fasteners
specification to perform the test .
• For simulation, it’s required to use the torque tool
and fasteners same as the job site to do simulation .
• The torque and clamping force curve corresponding
to the bolting process interval will be shown on the
monitor for the ease of tool torque adjustment to

1.Input Target Torque, torque wrench capacity, then the monitor will show the recommended
TM specification,
2.Select the TM close to the recommended one and input the torque ratio and gear ratio.

Residual Torque Verification after bolted
1. Select proper size of torque wrench and TTAS wireless Torque Transducer.
2. Input target torque , the target angular movement and range of control accuracy.
3. Use torque wrench to drive the Torque Transducer to tighten the bolted joint slowly. The APP will calculate the angular movement of the
Transducer and the residual torque sensed as soon as the bolt rotate to the target angle while displaying the residual measured and judge
as follow～a. Judge OK if the measured residual torque > the lower limit of the target torque or < the upper limit of the target torque，or
within the limit of the range. b. Judge NOK if the measured residual torque < the lower limit of the target torque or > the upper limit of the
target torque.
4. All measured data includes the type of torque wrench, the type and model no. as well as serial no. of the Torque Transducer, the
inspector’s ID, the time of inspection and the torque value, etc., will be recorded and transmitted to the laptop/tablet or PC or transferred
to peripheral device for traceability.

High Residual Torque Verification after bolted

1. Select the torque wrench, Transducer and Torque multiplier according to the residual torque to be verified.
2. Input the torque ratio and gear ratio of the torque multiplier as well as the target torque, the target angular
movement and its tolerance.
3. Drive the Transducer and the torque multiplier with torque wrench, the APP will calculate and alert with BUZZ
and show OK only if the calculated torque ( sensed torque X torque ratio ) > Low torque limit or < high torque
limit while the target angular movement fulfilled ( target angular movement of the bolted joint X the gear ratio).
4. It will show NOK and means the residual torque is lower than the low torque limit or higher than the high
torque limit as soon as the angular movement fulfilled.

High Residual Torque Verification
To measure the residual torque of a high torque bolted joint by
the first movement method and patented algorithm
For example- target residual torque 5,500NM to be measured and verified at angular movement 1o of the bolted joint
A torque wrench with 340NM capacity to be used while one Torque Multiplier with Gear Ratio 3:1 and Torque Ratio
2.7:1 and the other one with Gear Ratio 12:1/Torque Ratio 9.6:1 are available
Input Target Torque 5,500 NM to be measured in the tablet as well as the tolerance ±
10% for example, target angular
movement 1o, gear ratio 3 &12 and torque ratio 2.7 & 9.6 of both Multiplier.
The microprocessor in the tablet will calculate and display, the Torque Transducer TTA capacity 250NM to be selected
and angular movement 36o of the Torque Transducer TTA to be fulfilled during the verification.
In this embodiment, the tablet will calculate and judge OK/NOK according to the algorithm as follows;
