It!is!my!privilege!to!write!a!letter!of!recommendation!for!William!Barringer!as!he!applies!for!a!teaching!
position!in!your!school.!!I!have!worked!with!William!as!his!principal!for!one!year!at!Eisenhower!
Elementary/XinXing!Academy.!!During!this!time,!I!have!observed!him!both!formally!and!informally!and!have!
found!him!to!be!one!of!the!most!hardJworking,!stellar!physical!education!teachers!that!I!have!ever!seen.!!
Staff!and!students!alike!have!similarly!sung!his!praises.!

Our!school!is!unique!in!that!we!have!two!programs!within!the!same!building.!!Eisenhower!Elementary!is!a!
very!diverse,!high!poverty!community!school!and!XinXing!Academy!is!a!Chinese!Immersion!school!that!is!
nearly!all!White!and!Asian!with!a!very!small!percentage!of!poverty.!!William!works!with!students!from!both!
programs!with!the!same!level!of!vigor!and!success.!!His!lesson!plans!are!very!thoughtful!and!gradually!build!
skills!with!a!purpose!toward!larger!standards.!!He!leads!his!students!with!an!artful!mix!of!high!expectations!
and!personal!care.!!As!a!result,!you!see!very!high!motivation!and!engagement!in!his!classes.!

One!of!William’s!most!impressive!personality!traits!is!his!exceptional!drive!to!learn!and!contribute!to!the!
learning!of!other!colleagues.!!He!spends!a!great!deal!of!time!and!effort!connecting!with!other!professionals!
in!physical!education!both!for!his!own!learning!and!for!sharing!his!own!ideas.!!He!is!always!pursuing!some!
new!aspect!of!technology!and!how!it!can!help!both!students!and!other!teachers.!!Whether!it!is!through!
sharing!indoor!recess!ideas!with!teachers,!building!a!gaga!ball!court!on!the!playground!during!the!weekend,!
or!running!his!own!online!staff!development!for!teachers!across!the!country,!Billy’s!eagerness!to!learn!and!
contribute!to!the!profession!permeates!everywhere!in!the!building.!!His!collaboration!with!the!staff!has!
improved!many!aspects!of!our!school.!

William!Barringer!is!a!gifted!educator.!!Any!organization!would!be!exceptionally!fortunate!to!have!him!
