Main Job Functions: Monitor daily expenditure, prepare various costsheets,do cost allocationsand transfers,
activity costing,varianceanalysisand explanationsincludingcostand profitforecasting.The monthly duties of
bank reconciliations,VAT returns and debtors and creditors management is included and led to the performing of
month end, financial year end procedures and budget preparations.
I had several staff reportingto me and was also placed in an actingcapacity as Fi nancial Manager on several

New Horizons…but still withAnglo
I applied for a position as ContactsManager in the Supply Chain environment and moved into the rolein August
2009.Responsibleto manage all the supply,service& maintenance and repair contractheld by Anglo American
ensuringthat it meets the requirements of the stakeholders;it has to be appropriatein fulfillingend users’needs
in a way that is aligned with AA Supply Chain strategy, policies and procedures.
Main Job Functions: The contracts aremaintained from a legal perspectivethrough its lifecycle(from tender
issuinguntil termination whilenegotiating with suppliers and managingthe relationship throughoutthe process);
it is also used as a tool to enhance contractcoverage of all commodities and services procured by AA. The
administration supportconsists of 9 people reporting to me (until 2014.)
I was promoted to Business Unit Category Manager in 2014 and currently occupy this role.
Main Job Functions: The rolefocuses on strategic contractmanagement and procurement within the portfolio
Commodities & Services which included the followingcategories:
Cleaning& maintenance services,catering,consultantadvisory services,security services,protectiveclothingand
workwear, health & staff wellness,steel, hand tools, facilities management and general miningconsumables
(drilling,general spares,stationery,ad-hoc services and projects).
The total spend by AA in the above category amounts to R 12.2 billion per annum. 85% thereof is covered by
contractwhich arenegotiated continuously in order to ensure the best quality services and consumables are
sourced at the right price.The total benefits for my category delivered R 25 million in 2015 as a resultof my
negotiations.
The overall management of this roleincludes the following:
Identify projects,opportunities,do spend analysis,marketresearch and implement strategies
Procurement of goods and services (lowest prices butbest quality)
Implement and adhere to policies and procedures,reviewand monitor complianceand manage standards
and legal contracts.
Develop supplier and contractdatabase,monitor and maintain relationshipswith suppliers
Local and BBBEE supplier development
Oversee facilities and administration / staff management, includingdevelopment and training.
All of this done in a very safety conscious environment
