Physical Education Reflection
I did not have a lot of background knowledge about physical education prior to taking this course, and this class allowed me to expand my thinking
and the resources that I will probably have in the future. This allowed me to look at physical education in a new perspective and really take a look at
how crucially important it is for children to get the right amount of physical education so they can be as healthy as possible. I feel like I learned a lot of

So, this was a very creative way to get us thinking about ways that we can come up with to make sure that our future students have access to tools that
will allow them to have fun while they exercise. I will take all of these useful tools that were taught to us and incorporate them into my future
teaching by always looking back and seeing how my students learn, take a very good look at the outcome I want for the lesson, and address all the
qauestion that might arise. Looking back at everything that we did in class really gave me a different look at how important it is for the kids to
enjoy the exercise they are doing, if us as the teachers do not put a lot of effort into the way we are going to teach a subject, then it will be impossible
to get the children's interest. I want to implement all of this by assuring myself and my future students, that I am putting all the effort possible to make
sure that my students learn everything that I have prepared for them. One thing that really surprised me was what we were learning just a few days ago
about our nutrition concepts and the labels on food, this made me really think of everything that we eat and how sometimes it's not as healthy as we
think. When we were comparing labels with our classmates of the snacks we had brought to class, I was so shocked when I learned that the snack

Physical education should be a fun class, but fun does not have to mean chaos. I believe in a structure that will allow the students to have fun in a safe
way. My lesson plans will be structured so that students are constantly engaged in physical activity. I feel that if I can keep students moving and
learning, then the chances of misbehavior will decrease. In elementary school I feel that Instant Activities should be used to get students moving when
they get into my class. High school is a little different. I feel that students at the secondary school level should be introduced physical fitness activities

My class will be competitive to a point. I want students to compete hard in team games, but not to the point where too much pressure is put on them.
Motivation is the key to accomplishing any task. I plan to use both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The grade level of the class will determine what
kinds of motivation strategies I will use. I do not believe in written work outside of class in my physical education class. Students are always
bombarded with papers, problems, and reading. The occasional exit slip or written exam will be incorporated within my class, though. I want students
to gain knowledge of sports, fitness, and their body. I believe that I am one of the few chances a student has to become interested in life–long
activities. I want students to want to be physically active. I will show them the benefits of living an active lifestyle and try to incorporate ways that

Community plays an important role in the development of the students. The community wants to know what there money is going to. There are also
people who believe that physical education is a waste of their money and that high school students are too old for "recess". I want to hold a physical

Students will learn as they are taught. If a child is pushed to do his/her best, then that child will succeed. If a student is always praised, he/she will

As a teacher, I hope to get across to my students the health benefits that physically active people will have. With this in mind, I am going to teach
them about their bodies and the lifestyles that can shorten their life. I believe that being physically fit can help strengthen a person mentally,

Personal Statement For Physical Education
The profession that I have chosen as a career is to become a physical educator. I'm looking at this career because I love physical activity. I've always
been passionate when it comes to teaching physical activity and I've grown to love the feeling of accomplishment whenever I help someone
improve their skill sets at certain sports. I also love coaching little kids and help them learn different type of sports that they find interesting. This

I can remember changing my opinions about health and physical education throughout my entire childhood. As a young child in grades kindergarten
through to about grade two, I remember loving physical education. Every student was simply there to run around, play sports or games together and get
our hearts pumping. As the years went on, the social politics surrounding choosing teams and making fun of those less athletically adept began to taint
my opinion of physical education. I ran like a spaz, I had no coordination or aim, and eventually, physical education became less about my love for
games and running around and more about my self–conscious view of my lack of athletic ability. I would always be picked last for teams and made fun
of when I had to actually prove myself for marking. So, naturally, when it was time for gym class in elementary school, I would groan and make an
excuse not to play in whatever sport we were playing.
In high school, on the other hand, we had separate gym classes for the boys and the girls. Suddenly, I felt completely comfortable with my athletic
abilities or lack thereof and really focused on learning. My teacher did not make us choose teams but randomly chose them herself. She gave us the
confidence and skills to be active inside and outside of the classroom. Everyone was just there to learn and have fun and it was as though the social
politics that once crippled my opinion of physical education had simply disappeared forever. There were more team building exercises, like jogging
as a group and going to the town gym together, than there were opposing team exercises. Although I knew I was not the most athletically gifted
student in the class, I did not really take notice as I had in elementary school. I was just there to move and learn and have fun. Because of my high
school health and physical education teacher, I am happy to participate in a group environment, regardless of the gender of those involved. She
taught me skills that gave me confidence to participate in any activity. I suppose I just needed a safe environment in which to learn before I began

Physical Education and School Sport (PESS) has seen many changes to its policy since 1960 up until the present day. PE has changed from a subject
that promoted ideologies surrounding military drill, to more recently engaging children in lifelong participation whilst also excelling in a broad range

EPE 100 has not only taught me so much about becoming a teacher but a ton about myself. Prior to EPE 100, I felt as though I had a solid
understanding of what it meant to be a physical education teacher. Do a quick warm up, Rally the students, put them into teams, explain the rules and

The need for quality physical education in elementary schools is an important needed foundation for young children to maintain a future healthy
lifestyle. The benefits of having physical education in elementary schools are endless. For example, physical education helps fight childhood obesity,

Physical Education Reflection

Physical Education Reflection I did not have a lot of background knowledge about physical education prior to taking this course, and this class allowed me to expand my thinking and the resources that I will probably have in the future. This allowed me to look at physical education in a new perspective and really take a look at how crucially important it is for children to get the right amount of physical education so they can be as healthy as possible. I feel like I learned a lot of valuable things in this class, that I will be able to apply in my future classroom one day. So, this was a very creative way to get us thinking about ways that we can come up with to make sure that our future students have access to tools that will allow them to have fun while they exercise. I will take all of these useful tools that were taught to us and incorporate them into my future teaching by always looking back and seeing how my students learn, take a very good look at the outcome I want for the lesson, and address all the qauestion that might arise. Looking back at everything that we did in class really gave me a different look at how important it is for the kids to enjoy the exercise they are doing, if us as the teachers do not put a lot of effort into the way we are going to teach a subject, then it will be impossible to get the children's interest. I want to implement all of this by assuring myself and my future students, that I am putting all the effort possible to make sure that my students learn everything that I have prepared for them. One thing that really surprised me was what we were learning just a few days ago about our nutrition concepts and the labels on food, this made me really think of everything that we eat and how sometimes it's not as healthy as we think.
