Space Exploration Argumentative Essay Topics
Billions of dollars go into space exploration projects every year. Some people feel that this money should be used to solve problems on Earth. All of
the "NO" arguments come from people who seem to know nothing about space. First off, the most widely used argument that does not support space
exploration is "We have too many problems on Earth, so why go into space?" This argument is definitely not appropriate. While there are many
problems on Earth, a lot of them can be solved using the technologies that we develop for space exploration. For example, NASA helps on research into
cancer and preventing, treating, and even curing it. The second biggest argument is "It too expensive, we should be spending space program money to
funding the needy.

The Idea of Space Essay
THE IDEA OF SPACE
The concept of space is an important architectural feature that distinguishes it from other artistic activities. It is the three dimensional aspect of space
that a person can find his or herself within. A painting is simply two dimensional, even if the artist could introduce other dimensions to it, the viewer
can only see the painting on a flat canvas. Sculpture is three–dimensional however people can see that from the outside and immediately relate to it.
Architecture is very much similar to a large statue that has been simply carved from the inside so that one can live and dwell from within. From this
perspective, architectural space is not just only the picture of places our heritage and us have lived, but most...show more content...
Prairie houses all had horizontal roof planes, dynamic spaces, and connection with nature around the environment, along with the openness of the space
inside using many types of windows. The Prairie houses were all about the space, motion and the creation of the new domestic American architecture.
Frank Lloyd Wright defined the space in his design by no longer utilizing boxes. He thought of space as an endless end, intersecting one and other
being sheltered by a roof plane that extends outward to the surrounding landscape. Frank Lloyd Wright imagined the spaces separated not by doors
and walls, but by using the angle of vision. As one moves through space surprises are to come such as the changes in height of the ceiling or a
breathtaking view of sunlight that can be seen around the corner. Frank Lloyd Wright also studied, and was greatly influenced by Japanese architecture.
Tokonoma, which was a Japanese focus element that would stand in the spaces during a ceremony, had a big impact on him. He studied architecture
that would modulate space and charged it with spiritual character. Frank Lloyd Wright gradually changed the architecture of simple boxes to more
meaningful experimental spaces.

Space privatization is companies having the right to go up into space and send a space shuttle. People like us are against public companies who
have no experience to go into space. We truly believe that only NASA should have the ability to go into space. Just because they do have
experience, and they only do missions for the fact to collect data. But federal funds for NASA to go to space more in the future is drying up. So,
the idea for private companies to go into space is rising. For the fact the NASA doesn't have the proper funds that they need to go into space. Two
main companies trying to into space is Google and Amazon, and they actually might have the funds. Tourism is also a idea for space privatization. Our
opinion on this is that private companies would hire inexperienced people for the job. But no country has made any travel to space, since the 60's. The

Conclusion On Space Exploration
ABSTRACT Space travel has become a growing event in the world and has assisted in advancing our knowledge as well as providing information
about the solar system. As the human race continues to grow, the need for resources continues to grow as well and finding new places to inhabit as
well as being able to find new resources is becoming more important. The issue that needs to be addressed currently is the air quality onboard the
space habitats, stations and vehicles. There have been advancements in that section, but new challenges arise that have negative impacts on the crew.
Despite these issues, however, there is not an immediate need to stop space exploration as long as these issues are being worked on.
INTRODUCTION Space travel has become an event of growing importance since the first venture in the late 1950s. Humans are driven to explore
the unknown, discover new worlds, and push the boundaries of scientific and technical limits [1]. Space exploration can feed the human knowledge
base as well as open the doors for new resources that can potentially be gathered from other worlds. However, this poses a challenge for the people
who man the space vehicles during an expedition. Though the technology has improved significantly towards the removal of most harmful gases, there
are still issues with air quality on board these celestial habitats such as trace contaminants from equipment and microorganisms. DISCUSSION Air
quality on earth is controlled by the earth's

The Benefits of Space Exploration Essay
Mankind has always been fascinated with exploring the unknown. From sailing to distant lands to someday setting foot on other planets, the spirit of
exploration is the same. Bur now with the current economic situation and the high cost of sending people to space, NASA is being looked at as a way
to free up some much needed funds. Although, there is many problems here on planet Earth that need addressing, the benefits of space exploration far
out weight the disadvantages. Space exploration has given us more advanced technology, advances in the medical field, and a boost to the economy and
these facts cannot be disputed.
Since we first sent rockets into Earths orbit, we have been pushing the technological boundaries in order to reach new...show more content...
There is also a huge risk of the spread of sickness because astronauts live in such close quarters. "During space travel, exposure to microgravity,
radiation, and stress alter human immunoregulatory responses, which can in turn impact an astronaut's ability to prevent acquisition of infectious
agents or reactivation of latent infection. In addition, microgravity affects virulence, growth kinetics, and biofilm formation of potential microbial
pathogens." (Mermel, 2013) This just shows some of the possible risks astronauts may encounter during a prolonged space flight such as one to the
moon or another planet. Because of all these risks NASA has created an extensive screening process and materials to help counter the spread of
disease and infection in a space craft. These advances not only help astronauts but they also have applications for us on earth. We have already seen
many of these "spin off" technologies like the implantable pacemaker, Lasik eye surgery and the MRI and CAT scan.
Space exploration has and will continue to provide a large boost to the economy. "Missions such as the launch and operation of communications and
remote sensing satellites, scientific satellites and, of course, military surveillance satellites, have been the stock–in–trade of the commercial sector for
decades, and represent an industry worth S300–billion annually." (Watson, 2013) Not only is there a lot of money in the business of sending

Life in Outer Space
The answer to the above question is I don't know. This essay is not an essay of answers because nobody knows the answer. What I want to do is
speculate. My speculation will be controlled and based on the knowledge we have at present. Like all science, everything I say in this essay could be
proved wrong by a new theory or discovery tomorrow. However, the path that we follow will be full of interesting ideas that, I hope, will stimulate the
reader.
The reason I talk about extraterrestrial life is because there is strong evidence that all life on this planet has a common origin. Chemically and
genetically there are evolutionary links between all organisms that more or less...show more content...
That is actually very difficult. The one I will use for this essay is as follows.
A living organism is a system that can interact with its environment, exchanging material with the outside, and capable of reproducing itself.
Essentially, this is a chemical definition of life. Molecules pass into the organism and are built up to complex molecules distinctive of the organism
by a series of chemical reactions. Waste products from this process are passed back out again. Many people believe that life involves something else
apart from chemistry. This is a piece of speculation that I will ignore since I know nothing about it.
Organic Chemistry =================
The above chemical definition of life actually imposes severe limits on where life can be expected. Life on Earth is made up of complex molecules
based on Carbon. This is no accident. Carbon is the only atom capable of forming large complex molecules. The chemistry of carbon compounds is
called Organic Chemistry.
The chemical reactions of life are subtle and complex. Let us look at the conditions necessary for complex chemical reactions to occur.
In nature, matter is found in three states: gas, liquid and solid. In solids the molecules are held together in fixed positions relative to each other. In
liquids, the

Why Robotic Space Exploration is Better than Human Space Exploration
The space is a marvelous place where it is fated for humans to go and explore, just like how humans explored the new world back in the Medieval
age. For the past decades, people have sent up men and women, and machines to the space for the sake of space exploration. Even with this great
amount of time, the debate over Robots Vs. Humans for space exploration hasn't come to a settle yet. With that said, Robot Vs. Human Space
Exploration will be discussed, and it will be emphasized on why Robotic Space Mission is better than Human Space Mission.
The very first problem is the issue on budget to send people out to the space and maintain their life. With the current...show more content...
To back up that point, the "TAM!" talk show, which was held in Las Vegas 2011, supported the fact that the cost of each man being sent to space
would is way more expensive than sending out probes into the space (Neil Tyson). It was described that one manned exploration would be equal
to the amount of doing hundreds to thousands of robotic space program (Neil Tyson). Using a comparison, it would have been logical to send a
few probes to investigate a planet, rather than sending a few people to the planet, which may not make much difference. Even if the robots used
were to have a shorter life expectancy, the overall cost of making another would still far less than sending two people up to the space. The
tremendous cost to pay for a human space program also would never give a 100% certainty for the safety of those astronaut in the far distance
space. In the case of emergency, help would be too far away to reach them on time. If robots were to die, money and time could be used to solve the
problem. If it were humans who were in emergency, not only money and time that has to be dealt with, but also the social fear and hate that would
arise and heavily impact the idea of space travel. The case of emergency relates to the next point that humans are rather fragile and unpredictable on
alien living condition, compared to robots which could endure harsher condition.
Assuming we have to send people out to study planets like Neptune,

Pros And Cons Of Space Exploration
Space exploration can lead to a giant leap for mankind. However, it is also criticized for not having achieved any major scientific breakthroughs.
While some believe that space exploration and research in the field has many advantages, there are others who criticize the field for having no real
benefit for mankind. As a people we need to decide what is the best course of action regarding space exploration, but in order to do that, we need to
become educated. What are the pros and cons of space exploration?
One reason myriad proponents argue that space travel is a good thing is because of the potential to discover life. Most exploration of the cosmos has
revolved around finding planets with the same environment as earth's. Somewhere in...show more content...
We always equate space exploration with the discovery of life or materials that could useful for mankind. however, this may not be the case,
exploring space may land us in trouble. In space, we may find something that is dangerous or even lethal to the life on Earth. We may discover
something that can be harmful to the living beings on our planet. In an article by Dave Mosher, science and technology correspondent at Business
Insider, "Space Makes Bacteria More Dangerous", Mosher states, "Bacteria express different sets of genes in different environments to ensure
their survival. Inhospitable conditions, for example, can turn on a "master switch" in some bacteria and allow the microbes to form tough spores
that can survive the extreme conditions of space" (Mosher). Space can alter forms of life and even material. Space is different than our living
conditions here on earth, and different is not always a good thing. This change can be very dangerous for life on earth and even threaten our
existence. We need to be careful with what our space exploration brings. Along with space exploration comes space research, this research can bring
many changes in our lives. It can lead to new discoveries in science and open doors too much information. In fact, space exploration has already
benefited us in many ways. For example, space satellites help locate minerals and fossil fuels. Due to our knowledge of the sun, we have been able to
harness solar energy. Currently

Topic #2: Long–Term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities
As a long–standing member of the COPOUS, the European Space Agency (ESA), and various intergovernmental space organizations, the Republic of
Austria applauds the significant advancements of space technologies, yet remains deeply concerned about the long–term sustainability of space in
relation to the growth of human activities at such exponential rates. Of equally as great importance as the threat of terrorist attacks, the happenings in
outer space must be controlled while keeping in mind the provisions for the future, especially in forms of space exploration. Such continuous pursuits of
the different nations are aiding the increase in space debris, radio interference, and space...show more content...
It has developed a multi–segment Space Situational Awareness (SSA) program, one in which Austria participates greatly in its space weather
research segment. As well, Austria has a Satellite Laser Ranging for Space Debris Monitoring, one of the key technologies which allow for their
extensive participation. With deep concern, Austria has cooperated with many countries last year in the proposal of a set of guidelines along with a
refined and renewed work plan for the Working Group on the Long–term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities of the Scientific and Technical
Subcommittee. And in the same year of 2016, Austria has established an European Space Education Research Office for space education for Austria's
future generations.
Through devoted research, Austria proposes a few potential resolutions and calls other countries to come to its assistance. The satellites' use of radio
waves to receive commands from earth and transmit information can be disrupted by nearby systems operating on the same frequency. Austria believes
that countries should develop a world–wide, unified platform to share information on their actions in space to better coordinate activities. For example,
Austria believes all countries should commit to participation in the UN–SPIDER (United Nations Platform for Space–based Information for Disaster
Management and Emergency Response), a platform which facilitates the use of

I.Preparation before the Space Exploration:
As travelling in the space is a life–threatening task, astronauts must go through the Astronaut Training Program before they can go for their space
mission. This training educates the astronauts of various scenario of issues that they might face while being on the space and teaches them how they
should behave under those circumstances. Astronauts need to go through a medical examination as well, which determines if the astronauts are fit
physically for the space travel and would be able to carry out various research work, while they are out in the space. They must also train their body

No one could have predicted how important the innovation created by the space scientist to explore the space, could be used in the Earth in different
ways to improve the quality of life. In fact, numerous societal benefits have been experienced by the space exploration missions.
For example, the first satellite which was invented to research the space environment contributed to some critical findings that helped us develop global
positioning tools and advance in weather forecasting. In addition to that, space exploration has contributed various useful technologies such as solar
panels to implant heart monitors, cancer treatment, camera in our phone, to improved computing system.
One of the most important reason for us to continue space exploration is to realize that earth has its limitation. According to a 2012 UN Program for
the Environment report, earth has a carrying capacity of 8–16 billion people. Since, we already have surpassed 7 billion, we really need to look for a
place to put all these people, or we might end up destroying all the animal habitats so that more skyscrapers could be built in accommodate the needs
of growing population. In addition to it, growing population is also causing the natural resources to be used up quickly. Only possible solution that
anyone can see to these major problems is to find a place in space to colonize, as in the space, there is unlimited resources. Hence, space

The universe is about 15 billion years old yet we know very little about it. Exploring space costs billions of dollars a year, the cost is used to do
different types of research from launching missions that go into space and explore planets or moons, or studying the stars from telescopes on Earth.
Space exploration is important because it can be used as a great learning tool to find out more information about life on and off the Earth. The
government should continue to fund space exploration because scientists have found water ice on Pluto, researched crops sustainable in space, and
learned mars once had lakes.
People have been curious about what is out there for as long as humans have been around. In ancient times people used the stars to navigate and the
sun to tell time and stories of alien lifeforms are a popular subject for Si–fi writers. On October 4, 1957 Russia launched Sputnik the first satellite, this

Space exploration has brought with it numerous advances and changes to the world. Included in these changes are the significant impacts to America's
cultural landscape. America's cultural perception has been shaped by fear, patriotism, and a division between the Country. Throughout Margaret
Lazarus Dean's memoir Leaving Orbit, she explored many of these changes as they happened throughout the almost sixty years that American's, and the
world, have been leaving Earth. Dean delves into the initial launches throughout the 50's and 60's, describing both the unease and loyalty to country
that drove space flight forward and allowed for the cultural landscape American's live in today.
One of the first cultural changes that came with the space program occurred before America's first capsule even left the Earth. The American people's
fright over what the Soviets could do with this new technology of space travel was the driving factor into pushing for space flight. Fear grew
exponentially in the late fifties and early sixties as the first Russian satellites were launched and the possibilities of what the Soviet Union could do with
those capabilities weighed heavily on American minds. "[T]he degree to which Americans were shaken by Sputnik is all but incomprehensible to
people born too late to remember the Cold War... And what was to stop it from raining weapons down upon Americans from that vantage point... It is

The past years gave different civilizations a way to communicate with different gods; using the stars as a way to communicate. However, as the years
went by and we entered the 20th century, space exploration had become the main focus and analyzing different data from numerous planets such as
Mars and the Moon.
NASA is one of the first pioneers to become interested in space exploration and put plans into motion. Firstly numerous satellites were launched into
space to try and see if communication could be made from far distances. Then as time progressed and technology was improved with the way satellites
were made and the way transmissions of signals were done, new ideas surfaced.
NASA came up with the idea of launching a space station. They proclaimed that establishing a permanently manned space station would be beneficial
to any future launch missions (the Moon) and recovery phases of expansion missions Modular launch systems would be assembled easily at the station
to make space performance more efficient. Returning space missions at the space station would provide analysis of certain data to be done at

Why Should Humans Explore Space? Essay
Carl Sagan once said "every planetary civilization will be endangered by impacts from space, every surviving civilization is obliged to become
spacefaring––not because of exploratory or romantic zeal, but for the most practical reason imaginable: staying alive... If our long–term survival is at
stake, we have a basic responsibility to our species to venture to other worlds." The National Aeronautics and Space Administration orNASA, is
executing Sagan's words every day. President Dwight D. Eisenhower created NASA in 1958 with the purpose of peaceful rather than militaryspace

It is impossible to stimulate our economy or to find new things in space without a space effort. The space exploration has only begun and it has only
been happening for four decades so why stop something that only has truly begun. Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) is a
joint project with NASA and the German Aerospace Center. The idea for this project was to build an airborne observatory and put a German built
2.5–meter telescope inside a modified American Boeing 747. The idea of the project is that because the telescope is high in the sky, the infrared
blocking water vapor on the ground will not affect the telescope and the telescope will have a much clearer view of the infrared universe (than if a
telescope was on the ground). SOFIA objectives are to study the composition of planetary atmospheres, investigate structure and composition of
comets, learn about the interstellar medium, and to learn about the formation of stars. The project began in 1996 with an estimated cost of 185
million dollars and was to be completed in 2001. Unfortunately with delays and setbacks the project was not completed until 2007 and its first flight
with the telescope working was not until 2010. The price of the project doubled to about 360 million dollars, and to operate the plane, it will cost an

Space Exploration Argumentative Essay Topics

  • 1. Space Exploration Argumentative Essay Topics Billions of dollars go into space exploration projects every year. Some people feel that this money should be used to solve problems on Earth. All of the "NO" arguments come from people who seem to know nothing about space. First off, the most widely used argument that does not support space exploration is "We have too many problems on Earth, so why go into space?" This argument is definitely not appropriate. While there are many problems on Earth, a lot of them can be solved using the technologies that we develop for space exploration. For example, NASA helps on research into cancer and preventing, treating, and even curing it. The second biggest argument is "It too expensive, we should be spending space program money to funding the needy. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. The Idea of Space Essay THE IDEA OF SPACE The concept of space is an important architectural feature that distinguishes it from other artistic activities. It is the three dimensional aspect of space that a person can find his or herself within. A painting is simply two dimensional, even if the artist could introduce other dimensions to it, the viewer can only see the painting on a flat canvas. Sculpture is three–dimensional however people can see that from the outside and immediately relate to it. Architecture is very much similar to a large statue that has been simply carved from the inside so that one can live and dwell from within. From this perspective, architectural space is not just only the picture of places our heritage and us have lived, but most...show more content... Prairie houses all had horizontal roof planes, dynamic spaces, and connection with nature around the environment, along with the openness of the space inside using many types of windows. The Prairie houses were all about the space, motion and the creation of the new domestic American architecture. Frank Lloyd Wright defined the space in his design by no longer utilizing boxes. He thought of space as an endless end, intersecting one and other being sheltered by a roof plane that extends outward to the surrounding landscape. Frank Lloyd Wright imagined the spaces separated not by doors and walls, but by using the angle of vision. As one moves through space surprises are to come such as the changes in height of the ceiling or a breathtaking view of sunlight that can be seen around the corner. Frank Lloyd Wright also studied, and was greatly influenced by Japanese architecture. Tokonoma, which was a Japanese focus element that would stand in the spaces during a ceremony, had a big impact on him. He studied architecture that would modulate space and charged it with spiritual character. Frank Lloyd Wright gradually changed the architecture of simple boxes to more meaningful experimental spaces. The client, Mr. Robie was primarily a bicycle manufacturer. He owned a land within a tight corner of the southern Chicago area. Mr. Robie hired Mr. Wright to design a dwelling for him and his family. On Get more content on HelpWriting.net

"Space Privatization, Tourism And Morals." Inside Science. N.p., 28 June 2016. Web. 04 Oct. 2016. Space privatization is companies having the right to go up into space and send a space shuttle. People like us are against public companies who have no experience to go into space. We truly believe that only NASA should have the ability to go into space. Just because they do have experience, and they only do missions for the fact to collect data. But federal funds for NASA to go to space more in the future is drying up. So, the idea for private companies to go into space is rising. For the fact the NASA doesn't have the proper funds that they need to go into space. Two main companies trying to into space is Google and Amazon, and they actually might have the funds. Tourism is also a idea for space privatization. Our opinion on this is that private companies would hire inexperienced people for the job. But no country has made any travel to space, since the 60's. The ...show more content... In the event that we discover Martian organisms, does Mars have a place with them or to us? Could or would it be a good idea for us to create it? • 4. Conclusion On Space Exploration ABSTRACT Space travel has become a growing event in the world and has assisted in advancing our knowledge as well as providing information about the solar system. As the human race continues to grow, the need for resources continues to grow as well and finding new places to inhabit as well as being able to find new resources is becoming more important. The issue that needs to be addressed currently is the air quality onboard the space habitats, stations and vehicles. Humans are driven to explore the unknown, discover new worlds, and push the boundaries of scientific and technical limits [1]. Space exploration can feed the human knowledge base as well as open the doors for new resources that can potentially be gathered from other worlds. However, this poses a challenge for the people who man the space vehicles during an expedition. Though the technology has improved significantly towards the removal of most harmful gases, there are still issues with air quality on board these celestial habitats such as trace contaminants from equipment and microorganisms. DISCUSSION Air quality on earth is controlled by the earth's Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. The Benefits of Space Exploration Essay Mankind has always been fascinated with exploring the unknown. From sailing to distant lands to someday setting foot on other planets, the spirit of exploration is the same. Bur now with the current economic situation and the high cost of sending people to space, NASA is being looked at as a way to free up some much needed funds. Although, there is many problems here on planet Earth that need addressing, the benefits of space exploration far out weight the disadvantages. Space exploration has given us more advanced technology, advances in the medical field, and a boost to the economy and these facts cannot be disputed. Since we first sent rockets into Earths orbit, we have been pushing the technological boundaries in order to reach new...show more content... There is also a huge risk of the spread of sickness because astronauts live in such close quarters. "During space travel, exposure to microgravity, radiation, and stress alter human immunoregulatory responses, which can in turn impact an astronaut's ability to prevent acquisition of infectious agents or reactivation of latent infection. In addition, microgravity affects virulence, growth kinetics, and biofilm formation of potential microbial pathogens." (Mermel, 2013) This just shows some of the possible risks astronauts may encounter during a prolonged space flight such as one to the moon or another planet. Because of all these risks NASA has created an extensive screening process and materials to help counter the spread of disease and infection in a space craft. These advances not only help astronauts but they also have applications for us on earth. We have already seen many of these "spin off" technologies like the implantable pacemaker, Lasik eye surgery and the MRI and CAT scan. Space exploration has and will continue to provide a large boost to the economy. "Missions such as the launch and operation of communications and remote sensing satellites, scientific satellites and, of course, military surveillance satellites, have been the stock–in–trade of the commercial sector for decades, and represent an industry worth S300–billion annually." • 6. Life in Outer Space Essay Life in Outer Space The answer to the above question is I don't know. This essay is not an essay of answers because nobody knows the answer. What I want to do is speculate. My speculation will be controlled and based on the knowledge we have at present. Like all science, everything I say in this essay could be proved wrong by a new theory or discovery tomorrow. However, the path that we follow will be full of interesting ideas that, I hope, will stimulate the reader. The reason I talk about extraterrestrial life is because there is strong evidence that all life on this planet has a common origin. Chemically and genetically there are evolutionary links between all organisms that more or less...show more content... That is actually very difficult. The one I will use for this essay is as follows. A living organism is a system that can interact with its environment, exchanging material with the outside, and capable of reproducing itself. Essentially, this is a chemical definition of life. Molecules pass into the organism and are built up to complex molecules distinctive of the organism by a series of chemical reactions. Waste products from this process are passed back out again. Many people believe that life involves something else apart from chemistry. This is a piece of speculation that I will ignore since I know nothing about it. Organic Chemistry ================= The above chemical definition of life actually imposes severe limits on where life can be expected. Life on Earth is made up of complex molecules based on Carbon. This is no accident. Carbon is the only atom capable of forming large complex molecules. The chemistry of carbon compounds is called Organic Chemistry. The chemical reactions of life are subtle and complex. Let us look at the conditions necessary for complex chemical reactions to occur. In nature, matter is found in three states: gas, liquid and solid. In solids the molecules are held together in fixed positions relative to each other. In

  • 8. Human Space Exploration Essay Why Robotic Space Exploration is Better than Human Space Exploration The space is a marvelous place where it is fated for humans to go and explore, just like how humans explored the new world back in the Medieval age. For the past decades, people have sent up men and women, and machines to the space for the sake of space exploration. Even with this great amount of time, the debate over Robots Vs. Humans for space exploration hasn't come to a settle yet. With that said, Robot Vs. Human Space Exploration will be discussed, and it will be emphasized on why Robotic Space Mission is better than Human Space Mission. The very first problem is the issue on budget to send people out to the space and maintain their life. With the current...show more content... To back up that point, the "TAM!" talk show, which was held in Las Vegas 2011, supported the fact that the cost of each man being sent to space would is way more expensive than sending out probes into the space (Neil Tyson). It was described that one manned exploration would be equal to the amount of doing hundreds to thousands of robotic space program (Neil Tyson). Using a comparison, it would have been logical to send a few probes to investigate a planet, rather than sending a few people to the planet, which may not make much difference. Even if the robots used were to have a shorter life expectancy, the overall cost of making another would still far less than sending two people up to the space. The tremendous cost to pay for a human space program also would never give a 100% certainty for the safety of those astronaut in the far distance space. In the case of emergency, help would be too far away to reach them on time. If robots were to die, money and time could be used to solve the problem. If it were humans who were in emergency, not only money and time that has to be dealt with, but also the social fear and hate that would arise and heavily impact the idea of space travel. The case of emergency relates to the next point that humans are rather fragile and unpredictable on alien living condition, compared to robots which could endure harsher condition. Assuming we have to send people out to study planets like Neptune, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Pros And Cons Of Space Exploration Space exploration can lead to a giant leap for mankind. However, it is also criticized for not having achieved any major scientific breakthroughs. While some believe that space exploration and research in the field has many advantages, there are others who criticize the field for having no real benefit for mankind. As a people we need to decide what is the best course of action regarding space exploration, but in order to do that, we need to become educated. What are the pros and cons of space exploration? One reason myriad proponents argue that space travel is a good thing is because of the potential to discover life. Most exploration of the cosmos has revolved around finding planets with the same environment as earth's. Somewhere in...show more content... We always equate space exploration with the discovery of life or materials that could useful for mankind. however, this may not be the case, exploring space may land us in trouble. In space, we may find something that is dangerous or even lethal to the life on Earth. We may discover something that can be harmful to the living beings on our planet. In an article by Dave Mosher, science and technology correspondent at Business Insider, "Space Makes Bacteria More Dangerous", Mosher states, "Bacteria express different sets of genes in different environments to ensure their survival. Inhospitable conditions, for example, can turn on a "master switch" in some bacteria and allow the microbes to form tough spores that can survive the extreme conditions of space" (Mosher). Space can alter forms of life and even material. Space is different than our living conditions here on earth, and different is not always a good thing. This change can be very dangerous for life on earth and even threaten our existence. We need to be careful with what our space exploration brings. Along with space exploration comes space research, this research can bring many changes in our lives. It can lead to new discoveries in science and open doors too much information. In fact, space exploration has already benefited us in many ways. For example, space satellites help locate minerals and fossil fuels. Essay On Outer Space Topic #2: Long–Term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities As a long–standing member of the COPOUS, the European Space Agency (ESA), and various intergovernmental space organizations, the Republic of Austria applauds the significant advancements of space technologies, yet remains deeply concerned about the long–term sustainability of space in relation to the growth of human activities at such exponential rates. Of equally as great importance as the threat of terrorist attacks, the happenings in outer space must be controlled while keeping in mind the provisions for the future, especially in forms of space exploration. Such continuous pursuits of the different nations are aiding the increase in space debris, radio interference, and space...show more content... It has developed a multi–segment Space Situational Awareness (SSA) program, one in which Austria participates greatly in its space weather research segment. As well, Austria has a Satellite Laser Ranging for Space Debris Monitoring, one of the key technologies which allow for their extensive participation. With deep concern, Austria has cooperated with many countries last year in the proposal of a set of guidelines along with a refined and renewed work plan for the Working Group on the Long–term Sustainability of Outer Space Activities of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee. And in the same year of 2016, Austria has established an European Space Education Research Office for space education for Austria's future generations. Through devoted research, Austria proposes a few potential resolutions and calls other countries to come to its assistance. The satellites' use of radio waves to receive commands from earth and transmit information can be disrupted by nearby systems operating on the same frequency. Austria believes that countries should develop a world–wide, unified platform to share information on their actions in space to better coordinate activities. For example, Austria believes all countries should commit to participation in the UN–SPIDER (United Nations Platform for Space–based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response), a platform which facilitates the use of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 11. Persuasive Speech About Space Exploration I.Preparation before the Space Exploration: As travelling in the space is a life–threatening task, astronauts must go through the Astronaut Training Program before they can go for their space mission. This training educates the astronauts of various scenario of issues that they might face while being on the space and teaches them how they should behave under those circumstances. Astronauts need to go through a medical examination as well, which determines if the astronauts are fit physically for the space travel and would be able to carry out various research work, while they are out in the space. They must also train their body for weightlessness 12 meters underwater or in microgravity on a zero–g flight, so that they would get an idea...show more content... No one could have predicted how important the innovation created by the space scientist to explore the space, could be used in the Earth in different ways to improve the quality of life. In fact, numerous societal benefits have been experienced by the space exploration missions. For example, the first satellite which was invented to research the space environment contributed to some critical findings that helped us develop global positioning tools and advance in weather forecasting. In addition to that, space exploration has contributed various useful technologies such as solar panels to implant heart monitors, cancer treatment, camera in our phone, to improved computing system. One of the most important reason for us to continue space exploration is to realize that earth has its limitation. According to a 2012 UN Program for the Environment report, earth has a carrying capacity of 8–16 billion people. Since, we already have surpassed 7 billion, we really need to look for a place to put all these people, or we might end up destroying all the animal habitats so that more skyscrapers could be built in accommodate the needs of growing population. In addition to it, growing population is also causing the natural resources to be used up quickly. Only possible solution that anyone can see to these major problems is to find a place in space to colonize, as in the space, there is unlimited resources. • 13. Persuasive Essay Space SPACE The universe is about 15 billion years old yet we know very little about it. Exploring space costs billions of dollars a year, the cost is used to do different types of research from launching missions that go into space and explore planets or moons, or studying the stars from telescopes on Earth. Space exploration is important because it can be used as a great learning tool to find out more information about life on and off the Earth. The government should continue to fund space exploration because scientists have found water ice on Pluto, researched crops sustainable in space, and learned mars once had lakes. People have been curious about what is out there for as long as humans have been around. In ancient times people used the stars to navigate and the sun to tell time and stories of alien lifeforms are a popular subject for Si–fi writers. On October 4, 1957 Russia launched Sputnik the first satellite, this was a huge step for space exploration because researchers were finally able to be at the place they were studying, space. Cause eventually the Earth will have no more space for humans and has exhausted its resources making life difficult to prosper. Well fear not, there are space companies like the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA) and SpaceX trying to search throughout the universe for the possibilities of human survival. One of Jupiter's four largest moon called Europa, discovered by the Galileo spacecraft created from NASA, believed to contain water essential towards human life. The more reasons on why humans all over Earth should consider space exploration as one of the top priority, because Earth's resources would slowly be depleted as time goes on. • 16. Space Exploration Of Space Space exploration has brought with it numerous advances and changes to the world. Included in these changes are the significant impacts to America's cultural landscape. America's cultural perception has been shaped by fear, patriotism, and a division between the Country. Throughout Margaret Lazarus Dean's memoir Leaving Orbit, she explored many of these changes as they happened throughout the almost sixty years that American's, and the world, have been leaving Earth. Dean delves into the initial launches throughout the 50's and 60's, describing both the unease and loyalty to country that drove space flight forward and allowed for the cultural landscape American's live in today. One of the first cultural changes that came with the space program occurred before America's first capsule even left the Earth. The American people's fright over what the Soviets could do with this new technology of space travel was the driving factor into pushing for space flight. Fear grew exponentially in the late fifties and early sixties as the first Russian satellites were launched and the possibilities of what the Soviet Union could do with those capabilities weighed heavily on American minds. "[T]he degree to which Americans were shaken by Sputnik is all but incomprehensible to people born too late to remember the Cold War... And what was to stop it from raining weapons down upon Americans from that vantage point... • 17. Space Project Research Paper Companies such as Space Exploration Technologies offer NASA a cheaper, and overall better to reach Earth orbit and interplanetary space than any projects currently in development by NASA. When Elon Musk founded Space X, he wanted to radically change how rocket launches worked. He had the idea to recover the first stage of rockets, and then reuse them. He believed that this would allow him to offer launches at a considerably reduced cost when compared to non–reusable rockets. As it turns out, Musk was right. The current Falcon 9 version costs at lowest 49 million dollars to launch, a large decrease over the average NASA launch cost of 200 million dollars. However, as the years went by and we entered the 20th century, space exploration had become the main focus and analyzing different data from numerous planets such as Mars and the Moon. NASA is one of the first pioneers to become interested in space exploration and put plans into motion. Firstly numerous satellites were launched into space to try and see if communication could be made from far distances. Then as time progressed and technology was improved with the way satellites were made and the way transmissions of signals were done, new ideas surfaced. NASA came up with the idea of launching a space station. They proclaimed that establishing a permanently manned space station would be beneficial to any future launch missions (the Moon) and recovery phases of expansion missions Modular launch systems would be assembled easily at the station to make space performance more efficient. Returning space missions at the space station would provide analysis of certain data to be done at

Essay Carl Sagan once said "every planetary civilization will be endangered by impacts from space, every surviving civilization is obliged to become spacefaring––not because of exploratory or romantic zeal, but for the most practical reason imaginable: staying alive... If our long–term survival is at stake, we have a basic responsibility to our species to venture to other worlds." The National Aeronautics and Space Administration orNASA, is executing Sagan's words every day. President Dwight D. The space exploration has only begun and it has only been happening for four decades so why stop something that only has truly begun. Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) is a joint project with NASA and the German Aerospace Center. The idea for this project was to build an airborne observatory and put a German built 2.5–meter telescope inside a modified American Boeing 747. The idea of the project is that because the telescope is high in the sky, the infrared blocking water vapor on the ground will not affect the telescope and the telescope will have a much clearer view of the infrared universe (than if a telescope was on the ground). SOFIA objectives are to study the composition of planetary atmospheres, investigate structure and composition of comets, learn about the interstellar medium, and to learn about the formation of stars. The project began in 1996 with an estimated cost of 185 million dollars and was to be completed in 2001. Unfortunately with delays and setbacks the project was not completed until 2007 and its first flight with the telescope working was not until 2010. The price of the project doubled to about 360 million dollars, and to operate the plane, it will cost an additional 100 million dollars a year.
