J.C.R. Licklider envisioned a globally interconnected network of computers in 1962. The first link of the ARPANET was established between UCLA and SRI in 1969. This began the creation of the Internet. In the 1970s, terms like "Internet" were coined and packet satellite networks connected the US and Europe. Major expansions occurred in the 1980s-1990s including the creation of the World Wide Web and first online services like Pizza Hut ordering and banking. Wikipedia, YouTube, Skype and other familiar Internet services and applications launched between 1998-2005.
