COMMUNICATION
18. Obligations of the workmen under EPF
• Workmen are required to furnish their personal details at the time of joining with a contractor such as -
Name (As on AADHAAR ), Date of Birth (As on AADHAAR) Father's/Husband's Name, Marital Status,
Mobile number, AADHAAR NUMBER, Bank details and PAN number for generating the EPF UAN and
updating the KYC.
• If the workman has already been allotted the UAN he should furnish the same to the new employer for
making compliance by the new employer under the same UAN
• The workmen are required to file the E-nomination (Form-2) online by uploading the required details.
19. Benefits provided by the EPF Act
1. Withdrawal - Illness, Construction of House, Purchase of Plot, higher education, marriage etc. (Conditions
apply).
2. Withdrawal/ Final settlement at the time of leaving the service.
3. Pension after 58 years of age.
4. EPF Refund in case of Death: claim by the dependents of the deceased workmen in the event of death of the
member for getting a refund of the accumulated EPF Contributions, EDLI amount and monthly pension by the
dependents.
5. The Employee can get the Transfer of accumulated EPF Contributions from One Establishment to another
establishment by submitting Form-13 online.
6. To check up on the EPF accumulations by the Member. The member has to login to
https://passbook.epfindia.gov.in/MemberPassBook/Login and download the same to know the balance.
20. Obligations of the workmen under ESIC
To furnish the Personal and family details to the employer enabling the employer to register under ESI Act., and to issue
the E-Pehchan card along with the family photo.
If already a member furnishes the same insurance number to the new employer for making compliance under the same
number.
The workmen should intimate the changes if any regarding the change of Address, Dispensary, Marital Status and Adding
of family members etc., for the benefit of themselves and their family members.
The workmen are required to carry along with the E-Pehchan card whenever he/she visits the ESI Dispensaries/
Hospitals and ESI Branch office to avail the medical treatment and cash benefits respectively.
In the cases of availing of medical benefits, workmen is required to submit a copy of the medical certificates issued by
ESI Dispensaries/Hospitals to the employer and also required to submit the original medical certificates to the concerned
ESI Branch office for availing of the cash benefits.
