Description: Thomson Reuters is world's leading source of intelligent information for
business and professionals. It provides solutions which deliver critical news, information, and
analytics and bring together communities that allow trading, investing financials (stock
brokers) and corporate professionals to connect.
KATE (Kapow And TREIE Engine) is custom developed tool built by Thomson Reuters which
helps in Extracting, Transforming and Updating (ETL) stock exchange provided information
into downstream databases.
About more than 100+ stock exchanges are on boarded onto our application which provides
stock informative data in different formats and files. This data is applied to business logic
and transformed as per exchange requirement and distributed in downstream system
databases by calling relevant web services. These stock exchanges are then made live on
product called EIKON.
Key features:
• Collecting and Extracting data from different sources ( Web, FTP, Email)
• Applying the Transformation Rules on the extracted data
• Handling GUI for setting up the Rules (Extraction, Transformation and Distribution)

Responsibilities:

Description: Scan as You Shop is a process wherein a customer can scan all the items by
himself and pay the amount in a dedicated self-service checkout till. When a customer scans
the items, all the data are loaded in Oracle DB.
Being a part of Integration layer team, our role is to integrate Oracle to Data Warehouse by
transferring data to Teradata, for data to be available, for report generation to analyze the
trends in business.
My Contribution:
• Requirements Analysis (by going through Business Specification Document)
• Creation of Test Strategies document and Test Cases uploading in QC.
• Executed Ab Inito Graphs through GDE and from UNIX.
• Verified the data in target database according to business rules.

Description: Vouchers are issued to customers at the store as a means of reward on buying
something above the threshold set. These vouchers should be redeemed only once. To
prevent vouchers being redeemed multiple times, a smart voucher solution has been
designed as a systematic check which will prevent voucher being used more than once.
Clubcard Coupons:
Currently when a coupon is issued there is no control over the number of times that it could
be redeemed or who redeems it. The business would like to be able to issue coupons that
have the capability to be assigned the following properties:
• Have a limit to the number of times they can be redeemed
• Issued only to customers presenting a particular Clubcard for from a particular
account (household)
Integration layer (IL) stands the center of the project, integrating smart voucher/coupon
solution to store, by sending and transforming data as required by the store.

4. My Contribution:
• Being a part of Integration layer, was the SPOC for this project.
• Deployment and testing of SSIS, BizTalk, RTI interfaces.
• Test Data preparation to validate all possible scenarios.

Description: As a part of Retail business, this project architecture had been designed to
support the retail business in an effective way without any limitation of customer
expectations. There are mainly eight systems in this architecture namely RMS (Retail
Merchandise System), RPM (Retail Price management),RIB(Retail Integration Bus), IL
(Integration Layer), OFI (Oracle Financial), RDS (Range Data Store), Back Feed, and
downstream systems.
Every system has its own functionality and runs with different technologies. IL stands in the
center of all the systems and responsible for the data upload and download between the
systems. It uses technologies like SSIS, BizTalk, RTI, Ab Initio. The main theme of this
project is to run the business in the store line via operating model. There are 100+ interfaces
developed to transfer different types of data across these systems.
My Contribution:
• Involved in deployment and testing of SSIS, BizTalk, RTI interfaces.
• Running ETL jobs for ETL process.
