• System uses VACON® NXP Liquid Cooled AC Drives alongside
asynchronous generators and propulsion motors
• 3 diesel generators dimensioned so that sufficient power is
mostly provided by just one generator set
• Benefits include significantly reduced fuel consumption and
emissions and improves manoeuverability of the 135-metre
vessel
• Noise and vibrations are low because diesel engine is smaller
than conventional one
• River cruising allows up close and personal access to
cosmopolitan cities and quaint villages. MV Viking Legend’s
maximum speed of more than 21 km/h is achieved with a
comparatively low propulsion power of 1200 kW
