PROJECT OBJECTIVES
• Realization of a bidirectional system (input/output of data and commands) of remote control
and management of the farm through a dedicated software implementation and internet use.
• Possibility of creation of connection network on a national and international level.
• Real time, uniform and standard language data capture (numerical and visual) from the farm
and elaboration through dedicated software.
• Interpretation of the received data in order to know the situation of the farm regarding:
- microclimatic conditions,
- animal health (possible individuation of stress situations and/or initial pathologic phases),
- zootechnic performance.
• Immediate intervention through commands (corrective actions) transmitted by the system at
farm terminal in case of non conform parameters and eventual necessary treatments,
avoiding the classical “lost of time”.
• Possibility of intervention by any point of the dedicated network on the terminal that gives
“non conformi” data (different client position, at any place they are).

(50 broiler houses, of a capacity of around 30.000 broilers per cycle)
ANNUAL ECONOMIC DAMAGE: 300.000,00 € and over
(probability of around 10% of production cycles)

urgent treatment costs)

SYSTEM CHARACTERISTICS
1. Easily installation: preliminary technical recognition of a house and
installation in 1-2 working days on any type of poultry house.
2. Modular: easily expandable and applicable on other typologies of poultry
houses.
3. Non invasive: absolutely indipendent from local control system, no need
on intervents or modifications of the technology present in the house,
very competitive implementation costs .
4. Easy use and with appropriate hierarchy: 24 h x 365 days by the following
figures:

5. Real time information with reliable, synthetic and easily intepreting data:
values of analysed and interpreted parameters in practical mode by use
of colours and syntheticaly expressed through real time built graphics.
6. Important company database sorce: possibility to create personalized
profiles of production parameters and targets of a specific commercial
hybrid, company history, use for training courses ect.
7. Ready to be used on broiler, breeder, turkey.

hard thermic stress, death within few hours)

based on EFFECTIVE TEMPERATURE (apparent)

For a maximum production performance the EFFECTIVE TEMPERATURE

respeting the pratical rule of “always watch the
chickens”
• VIDEO: on demand to observe suspected clinical

  • 1. TELEVET FUNCTIONAL CHARACHTERISTICS AND OBTAINED RESULTS the Broiler in telecommunication and informatics era Italia Pegasus Institute SpA Dr. Kujtim Duhanxhiu DVM, PH.D Technical Coordinator of Televet Project 2006-2007
  • 2. PROJECT OBJECTIVES • Realization of a bidirectional system (input/output of data and commands) of remote control and management of the farm through a dedicated software implementation and internet use. • Possibility of creation of connection network on a national and international level. • Real time, uniform and standard language data capture (numerical and visual) from the farm and elaboration through dedicated software. • Interpretation of the received data in order to know the situation of the farm regarding: - microclimatic conditions, - animal health (possible individuation of stress situations and/or initial pathologic phases), - zootechnic performance. • Immediate intervention through commands (corrective actions) transmitted by the system at farm terminal in case of non conform parameters and eventual necessary treatments, avoiding the classical “lost of time”. • Possibility of intervention by any point of the dedicated network on the terminal that gives “non conformi” data (different client position, at any place they are).

ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF PRODUCTION PRODUCTION COSTS OPTIMIZATION: ABSOLUTE PRIORITY OF THE SECTOR as an example: ECONOMIC LOSSES OF A POULTRY FARM (50 broiler houses, of a capacity of around 30.000 broilers per cycle) ANNUAL ECONOMIC DAMAGE: 300.000,00 € and over (probability of around 10% of production cycles) (Mortality; animals with less live weight at slaughter time; Scarts at slaughterhouse; urgent treatment costs) Waste disposal costs, residues problems, environmental impact = ?

ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF PRODUCTION PRODUCTION COSTS OPTIMIZATION: ABSOLUTE PRIORITY OF THE SECTOR LITERATURE DATA (Poultry International) A broiler house with adequate system of internal microclimatic control can improve up to 20% and over the performance of growing broilers OUR EVALUATION THE CORRECT USE OF TELEVET SYSTEM CAN MAKE POSSIBLE TO DECREASE AT LEAST 50% OF THE ABOVE MENTIONED DAMAGES, CONSIDERING MEAT CHICKEN CATEGORY ONLY

Modular: easily expandable and applicable on other typologies of poultry houses. 3. Non invasive: absolutely indipendent from local control system, no need on intervents or modifications of the technology present in the house, very competitive implementation costs . 4. Easy use and with appropriate hierarchy: 24 h x 365 days by the following figures: -system administrator, -production manager, -veterinarian -farm responsible -house operator

Real time information with reliable, synthetic and easily intepreting data: values of analysed and interpreted parameters in practical mode by use of colours and syntheticaly expressed through real time built graphics. 6. Important company database sorce: possibility to create personalized profiles of production parameters and targets of a specific commercial hybrid, company history, use for training courses ect. 7. Ready to be used on broiler, breeder, turkey. 8. Future developments for: layer, pork, rabbit.

SOFTWARE PROGRAM • Standard/Personalized profiles for the most part of parameters • Parameter ‘s prophile on different zones (optimal, welfare, critic, hard thermic stress, death within few hours) • Measuring, elaboration and interpretation of internal temperature based on EFFECTIVE TEMPERATURE (apparent) EFFECTIVE TEMPERATURE: the resultant of environmental temperature correlated to relative humidity and ventilation. For a maximum production performance the EFFECTIVE TEMPERATURE should correspond with OPTIMAL TEMPERATURE

PROGRAMMA SOFTWARE • Ventilation monitoring based on DEPRESSION parameter, a very indicative value of ventilation’s efficiency Golden rule: “Good air exchange with good air velocity” • Monitoring and control of FEED by volumetric method, applicable at any situation and customizable for each house, without the need of installation of scales under the silos.
