National Literacy Mission was
launched on 8th September, 2009
with the prime focus on adult non-
literate women of rural areas.

14. All the 35 districts in the country which
are most affected with left wing
extremism are eligible for coverage
under this Mission irrespective of their
existing literacy rate.
