Prospective for Tourism Development in Phulkharka, JangaJamuna-05, Dhading
During the second semester researchers reached the study area and stayed at GangaJamuna Organic Homestay 10 nights and 11 days on January 12 to January 22, 2019. The study area has a huge potential for Tourism Destination, local people are highly hospitable. We formulated tour package or tour itinerary(if you need a detail itinerary email us) for domestic and international tourists. The study tour report is a general concept and deep research is still needed to be done to each and every particular element affecting tourism sector at Phulkharka village.

3. Chapter: One
Background of Study
GangaJamuna Rural Municipality lies in northern part of district. Inhabited by Tamang, Gurung,
Ghale, Chhetri, Brahmin, Damai, Kami, Sarki, Newar caste etc. live in this rural municipality. It
has famous Ganga & Jamuna water falls, which lies in its ward no. 05 Phulkhark,
Dhandakharka.
The Phulkhraka making the “Phul” and “Khark” two words, meaning Phul as Flower and Khark
as barren field kept for grazing cattle on. Nature has given plentiful tourism resources in
Phulkharka village.
The researchers have set study tour objectives in our mind to study of this place. The study
area has full potentialities as tourism product, and tourism destination. The tourism resources
have not been utilized to serve tourism sector. It’s contained full of tourism resources enough
to serve the tourism benefits purposes, and there is a need of proper tourism development
planning so that local people participation on sustainable tourism development and its
development.
4. Methodology of the study tour
Descriptive and exploratory research design is applied in order to fulfill the objectives of study
tour.
• Observation and field visit
• Focus group discussion
• Study of published materials Online and Paper (secondary sources)
Main objectives of the study are as follows:
• To identify potentials to Tourism Resources/ Tourism Product development at Phulkharka,
GangaJamuna Rural Municipality-05.
• To formulate and develop of tour packages.
• To recommend and suggest for future growth and development of tourism in study area.
Limitation of the Study Tour
Time and financial limitations were a problem that researchers felt as it was very difficult to
collect information and to study more.

• Coordination and cooperation between RM and local people is much needed for the
development of plan and policies for tourism development. Here RM and local people
committee plays vital role for development of tourism.
• Initiation of local government, regional government and national tourism organization and well
as tourism intuitions plays vital role for educating local people to make aware of pros and cons
of tourism in potential area.
• Budgeting for development of potential tourism destination and monitoring the development
work should be initiated by local government and national tourism organizations like NTB,
TAAN, VITOF-Nepal, HAN, and NATTA etc.

18. • Cooperation between local government, tourism organizations, tourism stake holders, regional
development bodies plays vital role for development, promotion and monitoring of potential
tourism destination.
• International organizations established by Nepali staying in foreign countries like NRNA, Different
Society clubs and organizations established in foreign countries like Japan, Dubai, UK, Australia, US
etc. can promote these destination in foreign soil as well as fund for development of the potential
tourism destination.
• Particularly Nepal Tourism Board , Village tourism promotion Forum-Nepal , Trekking Agencies
Association of Nepal etc. can allocate budgets and supply human resources for development as well
as educate local people in potential tourism destination like Phulkharka, GangaJamuna.
• Trekking Agencies, Tour Operators, Travel Agencies, Homestay operators, Tourism Entrepreneurs and
stake holders plays significant role for the promotion of this destination by promoting this
destination as their special package through their marketing channels.
• Local government can organize various promotional campaigns with the active participation of local
people. Campaigns like Exhibition, Tourism Fest and Festivals also can publish magazines, broachers,
leaflets, promotional videos etc. for marketing destination.
19. Conclusion
Phulkharka village can be developed as one of the unique tourism destination in GangaJamuna
RM-05 Dhading form adventure, village, and rural tourism prospective. Tourism resources and
attractions like scenic view of Phulkhark and its peripheral area, Ganga-Jamuna, Tin:sure hill,
Hanuman danda, Pokhara Danda, Mantari View point, View of Holy Ganesh Himal, favorable
climate, sunrise and sunset views, unpolluted environment, forest, landscapes & terraces and
traditional culture, lifestyle, Daily activities of local people, etc. are the pull factors and the base
for village tour, rural tourism and adventure like hiking, trekking, camping activities mostly for
foreign tourist. Rural tourism has gone the way from a form of selective tourism to an important
factor in the sustainable tourism development of study area. Researchers are concluded that local
people basic and economic needs can be fulfilled through a proper tourism development and
formulation of the new tourism products, its implementation with regular monitoring on real basis
will help in sustainable tourism practices and enhance tourism knowledge and awareness of their
people.

20. Recommendation
Following points are recommended to support and achieve tourism benefits:
• Local level tourism development plan must be formulated with participation of local
people, tourism stakeholders and private sectors by the concerned authorities.
• Sustainable tourism development methods should be followed during tourism
development of the study area.
• Skill development and training programme must be launched to increase tourism skills
and awareness of tourism.
• View point should be developed at various place of study area, local museum, and
Agri-tourism family farms with homestay concept should be established.
• Waste bins along the road side as well as hiking and trekking route, should be
established in study area.
• Prohibitory signboards must be established in appropriate locations to control illegal
activities, pollutions and information on Do’s and Don’ts boards must be hanging.
• A cyber and communication center and tourist information center must be operated.
21. • Effective promotion and marketing strategy must be developed including product
development and product formulation strategy with promotional materials and
marketing tools.
• Study area management mechanism must be set up for systematic and result
oriented tourism development, operation and its administration concerned with
sustainable tourism development plan.
The study tour report is just general concept and deep research is still needed to be done to
each and every particular element affecting tourism sector at Phulkharka village and its
periphery which was impossible at present because researchers weren’t able to collect
sufficient information.
