This document summarizes a research study on the influence of cultural capital on students at Telesecundaria la Cureña high school in 2016. The study aimed to analyze how cultural capital affects students' academic performance. Data was collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires of students. The results showed that family involvement and socioeconomic context influence students' education. It was concluded that greater participation of families and support from local governments could help motivate students and improve their academic performance. The study proposed a parent workshop to increase awareness of how to support students' education.

2. PROBLEM STATEMENT
How does the Cultural Capital affect the academic performance
in which the Students at Telesecundaria la Cureña develop?
3. General objective
To analyze the effects of the Cultural Capital on the academic
performance of the students with the purpose of changing their
proficiency and attitude at Telesecundaria la Cureña.
4. Specific Objectives
To determine the context in which the students of Telesecundaria
la Cureña develop.
To describe the role of the families, on the Cultural Capital.
To identify the educational dimensions of the Cultural Capital.
To propose a workshop for parents increasing awareness on
the improvement of education for the family develop.

8. SUBJECT
The subject of inventigation in this research was the students
at Telesecundaria la Cureña.
SOURCES
I. Primary sources used were interviews, questionnaires and
surveys as well as other investigations that support us with
the course of the examination.
II. Secondary sources used were the different internet sites
that allow us with the information needed to develop the
memoir such as previous studies and bibliographies.
POPULATION
The population were 25 students from seventh to eleventh
grade establish as a group to be investigated.
9. SAMPLE
None sample were used.
All from Telesecundaria la Cureña represent the population that
is going to be investigated. They were regular students of the
high school, students with different ages and from different
academic levels.

10. ANALYSIS OF THE OBSERVATION
Three observations were applied at Telesecundaria la Cureña`s
high school using different levels and the results were the
following respectively
I. In the case of 10th grades students, they did not show any
interest in the learning process besides to be a really difficult
group
II. In the other two cases that were 11th and 9th graders They are
more punctual and more motivated not only in the Ingles
classes but also in the other subjects.
11. ANALYSIS OF INTERVIEW
The interview was address to the students of different levels
from seventh to eleventh grade at Telesecundaria la Cureña
about the points of view, some perspectives and activities they
carry out to feel better themselves as well as those motives that
inspire them at home.
The participants show the weaknesses and circumstances that
overcome at home and academic activities besides reflect the
opinions of the barriers that face in academic process when they
try to success a better degree.

• Family is an important structure in the learning process of the student because will
influence positive or negative.
• Parents are not so involved in the education of the students.
• Families must foment with good strategies to see the participation.
• Students do not have the real interest to continue with their studies.
• Scholars consider that study is not important for them
23. RECOMMENDATIONS
• To get an integral participations with strategies to reinforce the links between family
and classroom.
• To keep parents updating strategies used at home under innovation.
• To get the chance of external support of other entities.
• Parents must foment the role as tutors at home.
• Support from local governments to generate laboral opportunities.
• Teachers must create a good atmosphere for students to prepare them for a more
active participation in class.
• Apply strategies and techniques that contribute with the students enthusiasm to
continue studying
• Implement dynamic classes in order to get attention of the students as well as to
promote a significant learning.

28. IMPACTS OF THE PROPOSAL
The Institutional and Educational impacts obtained with these
workshops are to reduce the filter hypothesis that make
students do not feel able to interact as well as students feel
more enjoyable and motivated to be in class and to have a
better communication between teachers and students in order to
improve behaviors in the institution respectively.
29. OTHER STUDIES DERIVED FROM THIS RESEARCH
• To create team buildings for students in order to develop good working
relationships between all members of the High School.
• To analyze the possibility to apply social and economic programs in which
students be in contact with the real situation of the community.
• To implement cultural activities that allow students to expand their
vision in order to increase their knowledge.
• To create a monthly magazine for parents of family with the aim to
give them tips on how to help their children at home.
