Granite countertops are extremely popular and the natural beauty of this stone surely makes its popularity worth it. Granite is an affordable choice for majority of the people to incorporate it in their spaces. Granite comes in a vast variety of designs, colours, and patterns that it has become fairly common for people to choose granite over any other material and still have a unique finished look.
Other than all that, granite comes in six different finishes to provide the customers with more choice to choose from, let us have a look.
2. POLISHED
Polished is the most common
finished for granite countertops as it
makes the surface glossy and
almost imitates a mirror-like view.
Polished countertops highlight the
colours and textures. They seem
more vibrant and dynamic.
3.
4. HONED
Honed surfaces are also known as
matte or buffed, this finish is extremely
smooth but does not have any gloss or
reflection. Honed finishes are more
popular with flooring as it becomes
easier for people to walk on a honed
surface rather than a polished surface.
5.
6. FLAMED
Flamed finish as the name suggests
comes on when the natural stone is
exposed to high heat on its surface.
Granite is the only natural stone which
can have a flamed finish. This finish is
rather rare, it is more popular for
outdoor kitchens rather than indoor
ones.
7.
8. LEATHERED
Leathered finish, also known as
brushed finish, is a fairly new finish.
To create a leathered surface a
honed surface is taken and is
polished upon with diamond-tipped
brushes on the surface to add more
texture with subtle cavities.
9.
10. CARESSED
Caressed finish is curated by
taking leathered finish granite
and adding some shine to the
surface. this is done by
polishing the raised areas
creating a sheen on the
surface. This look
contemplates both elegant and
rugged sensitivity.
11.
12. BUSH HAMMERED
Bush hammered isn’t a common finish
for granite countertops, but it is
something one should probably
consider. This finish is created using a
tool that looks like a meat tenderising
hammer with triangular points on it.
This tool strikes the surface providing
it a natural weathered look with a
slightly textured surface. This entire
process also tends to lighten the
colour tone of the stone.
