On June 15, there was an
unexpected crash of Mak B &
Co.’s bridal registry database. All
information on the most recent brides
had been lost within an instant. Two
brides were affected the most because
their weddings were in the next two
weeks. Mak B. was unaware of the
issue until the next day around noon
when a bride came in saying that
family and friends were complaining
that they could not access the registry
online to see what she had registered
for.
Mak B has never dealt with a
problem like this. After we found
out the issue we began working in
overdrive to get the registry back
up and running that day. Due to
miscommunication with our brides
and employees, we had a few minor
setbacks in the beginning, but after
finding the best way to address their
concerns we implemented a plan of
action.
The next 48 hours consisted of us
tediously working with technicians
to get our registry back up, writing
formal apology letters to our
customers and setting up appointments
for the brides to come in and tell us the
items they registered for. Kay Wanda
Black, the owner of Mak B, gave the
two brides whose weddings were
approaching free china of their choice.
“We are moving as swiftly as
possible to cater to the need of our
brides. We apologize for any of the
inconvenience this may have caused,”
Black said.
Everything was back to normal
by the end of the week due to our
expeditious efforts. We thank you, our
loyal customers, for your patience.

Mak B & Co. announced earlier this
week the expansion of the boutique to
include Ann’s Stationary and to offer
custom-made wedding invitations.
Ann’s Stationary is located next
door to Mak B & Co. and is owned by
Ann Black, the sister-in-law to Kay
Black, owner of Mak B & Co.
“I am very excited to sell my
company to someone I trust and love.
There is no one better or more capable
of taking over my business as Kay,”
said Ann Black. “I have known her for
years, and she is passionate about what
she does and devotes her energy and
time to making it a special experience
for anyone who visits.”
Ann Black decided to sell her
company to spend more time with her
family and friends. She has owned
the company for more than 30 years,
and she is excited about venturing into
other areas of her life.
Ann’s Stationary will also be
renamed to fall under the brand name
of Mak B & Co. Mak B & Co. will
now offer wedding invitations and
stationary and all bridal registries.
A very pleased customer said that,
“Mak B & Co. is definitely a one stop
shop now for all my bridal needs.”
We specicialize in meeting the
bridal needs of all women. If you
know of anyone getting married or
thinking about marriage refer them to
us and we will get them started.
“We’re a family here and hope
to keep on growing thanks to our
customers,” says Kay Wanda Black.
