In this presentation we included eight ways of walking, an example of the use of each of them in a sentence, an image showing the word explained, and, in some cases, a video showing the manner of walking.
2. ❏ To Stumble; to walk or move in an unsteady way, almost falling over, for
example because you are tired, or drunk.
- E.g: I stumbled all the way back home from a party that ended at 4 p.m.
3. ❏ To Stagger; to walk with weak and unsteady steps, without much control, as if
you were about to fall over because you are injured, drunk or carrying
something heavy.
- E.g: While I was walking to school I saw a drunk man staggering ahead of me.
4. ❏ To Shuffle; to walk slowly without lifting your feet completely, or lifting them
very little, off the ground, like if dragging your feet.
- E.g: After a marathon I was so tired that I couldn’t even lift my feet from the
floor, so i shuffled to the car.
5. ❏ To Lurch; to make a sudden unsteady movement forward or sideways, like
when you trip or fall from your heels.
- E.g: I was walking down the street and suddenly I stepped on a hole so I
lurched sideways.
6. ❏ To Limp; to walk lamely or unevenly as when one of your legs or foot is hurt.
- E.g: I was running, and I sprained my ankle, so I limped until I arrived at the
closest hospital.

them.
