Trevor Prichard appointed to Lead & Coordinate the
Grade 4-12 Celtic Academy
We are proud to announce that Trevor Prichard, St. Joseph High School teacher and coach, will
lead the Grade 4-12 Celtic Academy.
The mission of the Celtic Academy is to create elite student athletes.
Superintendent Karl Germann states, “Trevor’s leadership will have a
significant, positive impact on the creation of top student athletes in
Grades 4 through 12, and beyond.” This is a sport-based program based
on the philosophy that students can learn to maintain and improve
academic standing, as well as develop into elite student athletes. The
program utilizes the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model to
provide students with individual attention in a Christ-centered environment.
LTAD is a seven-stage training, competition and recovery pathway guiding
an individual’s experience in sport and physical activity from infancy
through to adulthood. Athletes flourish when individuals focus on multiple
sports within a LTAD framework. The Celtic Academy program is unique to the province and is
generating significant interest in the athletic community.
Over the course of his 15 year career, Trevor has demonstrated a strong passion for leadership,
sport, and the education of his athletes. Trevor works with students to maintain and develop both
their academic standing and athletic abilities. As Head Coach of the St. Joseph Celtics Boys’ and
Girls’ Football Program, he has led these teams to multiple successes, most recently receiving a

Silver medal in the 2015 Alberta Schools' Athletic Association Provincials. Two years ago, Trevor
piloted the Celtic Academy program at St. Joseph, which resulted in the creation of a number of
elite student athletes. Trevor also works as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach for
the Alberta U18 Football Team, and serves as President of the Mighty Peace Football League.
The Celtic Academy reinforces organization, time management, and respect as the cornerstones
to becoming successful student athletes. The program is also designed to prepare students for a
future in athletics and life by focusing on high-energy training, attention to detail, and character
development as key components of the program. Prichard adds, “We are dedicated to creating
elite student athletes through the implementation of multi-sport opportunities that are based around
developmentally appropriate activities that enrich health, wellness and sporting experiences for all
our student athletes.”
Celtic Academy is currently being offered out of St. Joseph High (9-12), École St. Gerard (4-6), St.
Patrick (4-8), and St. Kateri (4-8). For more information about the program, please call (780) 539-
