It is a great pleasure to write this letter of professional reference in commendation of Ms
Pearl Chua Lian Choo’s work performance and character.
Pearl was initially contracted in February 2016 for four months as a temporary Senior
Executive for the Global Dialogue @ NTU Department to cover for a staff member on
maternity leave. From her first week, Pearl had impressed our team with her proactive
attitude, meticulous approach to work and professional demeanour. Her work ethic was
apparent when she was tasked with a wide range of assignments.
Due to Pearl’s professionalism and adaptability, she was offered a six-month contract
extension to oversee the preparation and delivery of the first Falling Walls Lab Singapore, an
international competition event. From the planning of the event to its execution, she
displayed a level of leadership and communication skills well beyond her work designation.
She managed the relationships between different stakeholders and the executive team very
well, enabling the success of the event. Her sense of responsibility and ownership was
commendable.
Pearl’s contribution to the department during her stint with us was invaluable. As a dedicated
and organised individual, Pearl has the ability to manage various kinds of administrative and
project management tasks efficiently. Her key strengths include:
● Well-versed in supporting executives in different kinds of official work
● Proactive in organising and executing work tasks
● Highly organised in keeping track of project progression
● Mature decision-making, particularly about which items can be handled locally and
which should be raised to a higher level
