• We need a plan that helps us become disciples.
• That it will cause, all those who are baptized to
remain in the church and have a blessed
discipleship for themselves and for others.
What is the method we must use to be successful
in discipleship?
It is the method that Christ used.
a) It is a unique method
b) It does not depend on what level of organization we are
at.
c) Neither the responsibility that you have
d) It is not limited to one culture.
e) Neither to a certain time.
f) It's the best of all time
g) John 13:15
h) Christ's method is the role model to be followed by all the
disciples of all ages

• His ministry, his strategies, and his leadership are
the role model to be followed by the disciples of
all ages in form and content, his practices
established a different path, unique, and ideal. It
is the transformation of men and women into
disciples.
• It is only possible with Christ's method.

The transformation of the first
disciples was the key
• It is an ambitious plan.
• It is a plan that exceeds immediate, sporadic, and non-reproducible
results.
• The real plan is long-term and large-scale.
• It is not limited to one place or a group of people.
• A plan that would become very important in the time of the end.
Matthew 28:20
• This method would lead to the true transformation of his followers.
• This method not only baptizes but empowers members under the
power of the Holy Spirit.

• Each activity or program was under the great purpose of
transformation.
• It does not promote the events by themselves.
• It promotes the transformed person as the greatest
development in the kingdom.
• Wherever there is a person transformed by the power of
Christ regardless of time or space, his purpose would be
fulfilled.

The Five Components Needed for a True
Discipleship
These five principles are what allows the
establishment, development and
consolidation of Christ's model

1. The transformation requires a full and
continuous focus
1. Remember disciples are not born they are made.
2. You must follow God's appointed plan.
3. It requires planned actions and the right methods.

• The disciples are not the work of casualties.
• They are the product of the effort and dedication
of another disciple.
• This is done by the disciples dedicated to the
great commission.
• Disciples are a divine product.
Our example
• Christ the greatest example of focused leadership.
• Everything he said and did was intended to train his followers.
• He shared his life with his disciples in all possible settings.
• The disciples are the result of the focused intervention of an
instrument of God in the formation of himself.
• Our priority should not be programs prepared for the members.
• How does the Church invest in its time?
• If we hope to have disciples, we need to focus on achieving it.

2. The transformation occurs when
there is a clear purpose
• Jesus had a very clear purpose about what he expected
of his disciples
• They were also clear about it. "To be fishers of men.
• "They knew that what Jesus did was what he said.
• They wanted to be what Jesus wanted them to be.

Questions that we should ask ourselves
• Are those who are being baptized today clear of what God
expects them to do as a result of being his disciples?
• Do we believe that keeping the Sabbath, returning our tithes,
attending church, and participating in a program is the vision to be
a disciple?
• How many of our members know that God called them with the
purpose of being his servants and workers in his kingdom?

teaching process focused on learning and
applying the word
“teaching them to obey everything
I have commanded you.”
Matthew 28:20
Jesus' goal is to give knowledge to his
followers and to evaluate their learning. This
is about what they understand and not what
we say. Of what they do and not of what we
share.

• We are saturated with knowledge
• Many seminars
• Certifications
• Courses
• Workshops
• Programs
• But …..
• Few real transformations in us
• Members tired and distracted in different
programs
Why?

• It is believed that the most important thing is what the
Master said and did.
• The important thing is what happened to that message in
the life of the one who received it.
• The transformation is the result of what happens in the
student rather than the action of the Master.
• "Save it" is the main purpose.
• It is not just sharing and knowing.
• It is living it and doing it.

• It is a total change in our lives.
• It is to fully put the teachings into practice.
• Ideas must be understood and accepted to be
incorporated into life.
• It took Jesus three and a half years with the disciples
Discipleship is a way of life

• Our walk is touched by the word of God
• Our clothing
• Eating habits
• Family relationships
• The concept of work
• How we conduct ourselves in interpersonal relationships

• The way in which we recreate ourselves
• Our most intimate thoughts
• And all the other affairs of life
4. The transformation of the disciples occurs in
a practical model
• His place of learning was in the midst of people. Matthew 5: 1
• We can also find another example in John 6: 5-6.
• The disciples always helped Jesus with the
• crowd.
• They received the parables and their explanations.
• They were sent to fulfill God's mission.

1. Jesus' purpose was to make them his disciples.
2. To his disciples it was to teach them how they could also make
disciples.
3. The world and its needs was his classroom
• The poor
• The blind
• The sinners
• The boats
• The storms
• The demons
• Feeding the people
Ellen White mentions:
“The Savior gave his disciples practical lessons, teaching them
how to work in such a way that souls will rejoice in the truth.
He expressed sympathy for the discouraged, the heavy-laden, and
the oppressed. He fed the hungry and healed the sick. He was
constantly doing good everywhere.
He interpreted the Gospel for human beings through the good that
he did, through his loving words, and through his acts of kindness.

4. The transformation of the disciples while
fasting and praying
• The main components in the model of Christ
a) Fasting
b) The sentence
• These texts make us understand the preponderant role in the model of
discipleship for Christ.
• Luke 6: 12-13, He prayed before making decisions.
• Mark 1:35, Jesus’ habits.
• Mark 6:46, Facing temptations in His ministry he prayed.
• Matthew 26: 36-41, Sad and in anguish He prayed.

Praying and Fasting
• Prayer and fasting were learning habits and they were also a part of the
development and formation of disciples.
• The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray (Luke 11: 1-2)
• Another fact that shows the importance of prayer for the disciples was when
their human weakness was exposed and they became frustrated when they
could not cast out a demon. Mark 9: 28-29
• This teaches that:
We can have knowledge.
Be with Jesus.
Preach
To teach
But if we want to be effective for the mission we must
must fast and pray.

What is the method we should use for discipleship

What does a total focus on discipleship mean for
you?
Why is it important to have a clear purpose?
What is the difference between teaching-centered
and learning-centered discipleship?
What does it mean that Christ's discipleship will
occur under a practical model?
Is praying and fasting necessary in discipleship?
Why?
How would you apply the 5 components of this
chapter to your leadership?

  • 3. What is the method we must use to be successful in discipleship? The transformation of the first disciples was the key • It is an ambitious plan. • It is a plan that exceeds immediate, sporadic, and non-reproducible results. • The real plan is long-term and large-scale. • It is not limited to one place or a group of people. • A plan that would become very important in the time of the end. Matthew 28:20 • This method would lead to the true transformation of his followers. • This method not only baptizes but empowers members under the power of the Holy Spirit.   • 6. • Each activity or program was under the great purpose of transformation. • It does not promote the events by themselves. • It promotes the transformed person as the greatest development in the kingdom. • Wherever there is a person transformed by the power of Christ regardless of time or space, his purpose would be fulfilled. "Make disciples" S O U T H C E N T R A L A M E R I C A N U N I O N Yo irĂ© • The disciples are not the work of casualties. • They are the product of the effort and dedication of another disciple. • This is done by the disciples dedicated to the great commission. • Disciples are a divine product.

Our example • Christ the greatest example of focused leadership. • Everything he said and did was intended to train his followers. • He shared his life with his disciples in all possible settings. • The disciples are the result of the focused intervention of an instrument of God in the formation of himself. • Our priority should not be programs prepared for the members. • How does the Church invest in its time? • If we hope to have disciples, we need to focus on achieving it.   • 11. 2. The transformation occurs when there is a clear purpose • Jesus had a very clear purpose about what he expected of his disciples • They were also clear about it. Questions that we should ask ourselves • Are those who are being baptized today clear of what God expects them to do as a result of being his disciples? • Do we believe that keeping the Sabbath, returning our tithes, attending church, and participating in a program is the vision to be a disciple? • How many of our members know that God called them with the purpose of being his servants and workers in his kingdom? S O U T H C E N T R A L A M E R I C A N U N I O N Yo irĂ© • It is believed that the most important thing is what the Master said and did. • The important thing is what happened to that message in the life of the one who received it. • The transformation is the result of what happens in the student rather than the action of the Master. • "Save it" is the main purpose. • It is not just sharing and knowing. • It is living it and doing it.

Discipleship is a way of life S O U T H C E N T R A L A M E R I C A N U N I O N Yo irĂ© • Our walk is touched by the word of God • Our clothing • Eating habits • Family relationships • The concept of work • How we conduct ourselves in interpersonal relationships relationships • The way in which we recreate ourselves • Our most intimate thoughts • And all the other affairs of life
  • 19. 4. The transformation of the disciples occurs in a practical model • His place of learning was in the midst of people. Matthew 5: 1 • We can also find another example in John 6: 5-6. • The disciples always helped Jesus with the • crowd. • They received the parables and their explanations. • They were sent to fulfill God's mission. He expressed sympathy for the discouraged, the heavy-laden, and the oppressed. He fed the hungry and healed the sick. He was constantly doing good everywhere. He interpreted the Gospel for human beings through the good that he did, through his loving words, and through his acts of kindness. The transformation of the disciples while fasting and praying • The main components in the model of Christ a) Fasting b) The sentence • These texts make us understand the preponderant role in the model of discipleship for Christ. • Luke 6: 12-13, He prayed before making decisions. • Mark 1:35, Jesus’ habits. • Mark 6:46, Facing temptations in His ministry he prayed. • Matthew 26: 36-41, Sad and in anguish He prayed. Praying and Fasting • Prayer and fasting were learning habits and they were also a part of the development and formation of disciples. • The disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray (Luke 11: 1-2) • Another fact that shows the importance of prayer for the disciples was when their human weakness was exposed and they became frustrated when they could not cast out a demon. Mark 9: 28-29 • This teaches that: We can have knowledge. Be with Jesus. Preach To teach But if we want to be effective for the mission we must must fast and pray. What is the difference between teaching-centered and learning-centered discipleship? What does it mean that Christ's discipleship will occur under a practical model?
