Accomplished and dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience in teaching, planning, and
evaluating lessons for students and teachers. As a teacher, collaborator, academic dean, and
coordinator of special programs, etc., worked with faculties to help improve student performance,
motivation, test scores, and social growth. Worked as Supervisor of Instruction at a charter school
for students who had been expelled from their home schools and provided students with
educational, behavioral, and medical care. Attended Special Education Director’s Training in the
Spring and Fall from 2010-2014. Developed a complete special education program at a residential
care facility that provided help to students who were at their last step before entering DJJ.
Completed all State Department reports and grants necessary to ensure the agency was in
compliance with all state and federal laws and that all students were being provided a free,
appropriate, public education.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES
Taught grades three through twelve for over twenty years. Utilized inclusion, co-teaching, as well
as seminars to increase general education teacher’s skills, tools, and comfort levels in working
with special education rules and regulations. Led teacher groups in fun ways to collaborate, teach,
and learn. Insured there were fun activities away from the school where teams could decompress
and talk in casual settings about the best ways to implement inclusion and co-teaching.
Developed and implemented extensive IEPs. Supervised teacher’s understanding and
implementation of IEPs. Maintained extensive knowledge of special education law and updates to
policies and procedures and shared this information with faculty and staff.
Trained teachers and administrators in special education policies. Completed reports for the SC
State Special Education Department. Developed and designed curriculum and trained in Common
Core. Advised on student selection policy for residential school for troubled children, as well as
the hiring board for the presidents, superintendents, and principals.
2. Wrote federal and state grants. Served on Strategic Five Year plan committees, SACS committees,
Principal’s Leadership Teams, Formative and Summative Assessment of Educators, Trained in
Adept, Excent, Power School, and Enrich, Mind Set, Think Kids, CPR, and AED. Certified in
Suicide Prevention Training and Tailoring Instruction for the At-Risk Learner. Served as a
Wilderness Chief to students who had more serious emotional issues.
