5 reasons why CS students
should lean about SV.
1. SV is making IT companies that were startups like Apple ,
Google and Facebook huge and famous.
2. SV has a system that companies, universities, venture
capitals, and business angel help startups in terms of
money and manpower named “SV Ecosystem”.
3. University of Stanford in SV helps students who have
family in low-income studying by offsetting the cost.
4. By the system, it is not difficult for students who want to
start startups that do it.(Of course, you should try hard.)
5. SV teaches us that don’t afraid of failure. It is one of
important mindset for living.

First Impression about SV for me.
I thinked that SV is place where there are a lot of engineers who are WORKING HARD
and TIRED everyday.
So, SV were NOT attractive for me.
But, it is changed by researching about SV now...
Real SV
Workers in SV’s large companies
takes enough PTO and holidays.
And, even if they are sick, the
company responds flexibly.

There are a lot of apps and service to learn english.
But, it is boring for user that they are formal English.

innovation.
-> In 2015, Shinzo Abe visit SV.
-> TOYOTA invested $1 billion at a local AI lab.
-> Kushida Kenji who is scholar in university of Stanford says that “Japanese companies
understand open innovation very well and commit to SV”.

Japanese attempt to enter into SV
In general, it seems for Japanese companies to spend a lot of time deciding something.
KOMATSU said that it has already changed.
-> Because they provided service using skycatch’s technology(this company is startup
in San Francisco) without taking time less than one year.

Which city becomes Japan’s SV ?
Natori city in Miyagi prefecture is the most suitable city as Japan’s SV.
I have 3 reasons why.
Natori city has few snow in winter and the temperature is not so high in summer.
-> Workers will live or stay comfortably.
There is “Sendai airport” in Natori city.
-> When workers go abroad, it is convenient.
What city becomes Japan’s SV ?
There are sea and shopping mall in Natori city.
-> Workers will enjoy in holiday with their family or friend.
Is Gotanda Japan’s SV ?
At July 25 in 2018, 6 Japanese startups have established “Gotanda Valley”.
Gotanda city has 3 good point for workers.
-> Low rents
-> Comfortable city where live or stay
-> High convenience of transportation

China and North of Korea’s technology are developing rapidly.
It is necessary for Japan to aim not only technical development but also
globalization.
For the first step, we MUST keep in SV ‘s mind.
