3. Song Choice and Artist
• Our song for the project ‘New Man’ by Ed
Sheeran.
• We chose this song as it is performed by an
English artist so it will be easier to lip synch.
• We also chose this song because it has a
narration shown throughout the song that
can make our music video more interesting.
4. Our Target Audience
• From research that we carried out on our
blogs, Ed Sheeran’s main target audience
are males and females between the ages of
15 - 30.
• Therefore our main target audience is the
same as we are trying to create a star image
similar to Ed Sheeran’s one.
5. Overview of Video
• The overall narrative of the song depicts a
man who’s ex-girlfriend has moved on with
another man.
• We show this in the video as Nathan plays the
‘New Man’, Tom plays the ex who is left
heartbroken and Issie plays the girl.
7. Star Image
• We have analysed the different star
images from this genre of music and
have come to a conclusion on how
we should present the star image of
our artist.
• All the artists to the right have a
similar kind of style that helps their
image as a star. This style includes;
casual clothing, acoustic guitar,
microphone and a laid back
personality.
• We can use all of these
characteristics with our artists star
image so the audience relates it to a
certain type of genre.
8. Jack Avery
• Jack Avery is 24 years old and grew up in Cornwall.
• His backstory
• When he was only 8 year old his dad passed away from a car crash, his
mother was also in the car but walked away wit only minor injuries. He
was very close to his dad and when he passed away he went into a deep
depression and found it really hard to leave his house. At the age of 10
his uncle introduced him to guitar and taught him how to play. Jack, his
mother and his uncle all moved to London so jack could get a better
education and have a clean start.
• By the age of 13 Jack was playing guitar everyday and was busking on
the streets of London.
• At the age of 18 he started writing songs about his past and how he was
so in love with a girl and she broke his heart.
• He’s a very down to earth guy and this is because of what he has been
through.
• He has now has being going out with his girlfriend for 2 years yet he has
kept her out of the limelight.
10. Technical Requirements
• Were going to need:
• DSLR – all shots
• Tripod – mid and long shot
• Figrig – at the party, walking along the road (tracking
shot)
• Flash back effects ( screen goes into a smaller frame with
an tinted colour effect on it)
• iPhone recording screening for going through instagram
