Thought:
In Johnʼs gospel, Jesus begins his ministry with a sign of turning water into wine. The last
sign that Jesus did was to rise from the dead on Easter morning.
All the signs or miracles in John are really of the same nature. Jesus changes the
composition of the water into wine. He takes the lesser, and turns it into the greater. In the
resurrection he transforms his earthly mortal body into a greater immortal resurrection body.
This sign is the same miracle Jesus does in our lives when we put our faith in him. Our
worldly sinful life is transformed into a new life, filled with the Holy Spirit and righteousness.
Jesus is still doing the same miracle today; he takes the lesser, the earthly, and transforms it
into the greater and the heavenly. by Pastor Tom
