Sending quality
donated books,
free of charge, to
incarcerated people
all over the country.
2. WHAT YOU
CAN DO
As a volunteer-run, non-profit organi-
zation, we can always use more volun-
teers. Volunteers work one to two
days per week.
As a volunteer, you would help:
Find books in our collection that
correspond to each request
Wrap and mail the parcels
Volunteers can also help with fund-
raising activities such as selling books
at Evergreen or starting their own
fundraising project.
WHO WE ARE
Books to Prisoners (BTP) is a Seattle-
based, all-volunteer, nonprofit organi-
zation that sends donated books to
prisoners in the United States. BTP
believes that books are tools for learn-
ing and opening minds to new ideas
and possibilities.
We work to:
Offset the dehumanizing effects
of incarceration
Foster a love of reading
And encourage the pursuit of
knowledge and self-improvement
